She even says it herself, "This is a very demanding course." She wants a lot from you and believe me, you'll get sick of it

We read several books but we got to choose which ones to write response papers on. Both the midterm and final were take home assignments. She's not an easy grader but if you're decent at writing an essay you'll do well. She tells people grades don't matter which is ridiculous but I recommend her still.

lots of reading but all children books so i found it interesting but if you arent taking this class for fun as an elective you prob wont like it. Pretty tough grader for essays, hard to get an A but gives plenty of D-B grades. Theres one group presentation and one group project. Theres 8 books and you pick 4 to write essays on.

She makes you read 7 books and write 4 essays. Gives barely any time to read books. 2 group projects. Doesn't want to hear your opinion, wants you to only agree with hers. No rubric for how she grades papers or group presentations. When you try to talk to her about how you can improve she says "the grade doesn't matter."

You definitely need to work to earn your grade in her class but the material is really interesting. Participation matters a lot, but I didnt mind because I was actually interested in the articles she gave for reading. I would take her again!

This professor provides an excellent class environment, never have I ever enjoyed class discussions in my life. Sure there is a lot of work but it is college, what do you expect? The downside about taking her class is that she cares a lot about grammar. Because I am not a native English speaker, I made a lot of grammar mistakes in her class.

She's a good professor overall. Attendance and coming in on time is absolutely mandatory. Group discussions are the best, you end up feeling feel a family since we discuss so many personal thoughts and desires. The test was a little difficult because it felt opinion based but not undoable.

Although she may seem tough at first you really warm up to her. she doesnt sugar coat things and is direct. makes the class seem like 1 big family the work is fairly easy yes we read about 8 books but it was children books "charolettes web, desperoux." very easy reads. you write response papers to the books 1 group presentation that is interesting

Gives too many assignments with short time limits too do them. At one point there was an overlap of three assignments due on the same day. At times can be bit rude. Shes funny, nice and an open minded professor, for the most part though. Recommend the class and professor but expect a lot of writing and reading, more than an average english class.

If you like to read, you will like this class. Thought provoking discussions almost every class. The books she makes us read really hit home with a lot of us. Never felt like I was in class, to be honest--we all got to know intimate parts of each other because of Professor Rose. She is annoying at times, but this class was fun for the most part.

Professor Rose was cool when it came to English courses I'm not sure about other subjects. She was pretty clear about what she expected in her papers, class discussions and out of the class as a whole. I'd recommend this class for anyone who likes to read and stay on schedule. The class discussions were cool because the students all shared pov's !

Prof. Rose doesn't respect your opinion if you don't agree with her. Her exams are difficult. I expected to receive the highest grade in this course but she actually failed me! She had the nerve to say that I deserved a lower grade and what she gave me should be considered a gift. I am a straight A student. I couldn't help but take it personal.

This professor is not interested in anyones opinion but her own. Her test questions are pretty much all opinion based but write down an opinion that is not hers and she will mark it wrong even though there was never a concrete answer given in class. Her grading system is very unclear & I think very unfair.

She is insulting. she assigns books in her views about "hope." But then tell students they will not make it far in life. If you take off for religious holidays she will tell you that they are unexcused.

This is a terrible teacher teaching a pretty bad class. The class is styled as a discussion but it's clear that she only his interested in her own opinion. She may be "losing it" a little. She is very strict about having the book, being on time, cell phones, participation and such. 2 page response papers to around 15 CHILDREN'S books. WORTHLESS!!!
