Don't take this professor. Took her for ARH100 in MDC and was the hardest thing. Not to mention someone changes the final in the last minute and nothing went as expected. She is a tough grader, corrects your grammar in every little detail even though this is not an ENC class, she will lower your grade. The only good thing is that she answers email

Gave 5 projects, a midterm, and a final that was an art project as well. Had you keep a sketchbook of project development and some in-class notes. Most days were studio days, not very many lectures. I thought her midterm was really hard and was so nervous after taking it but she graded it easy. Keeps attendance, very very nice critiquer.

if you have to take intro to art, SERIOUSLY, take her class. it was probably the funnest class i've ever taken. and after hearing every other student who had to take art history complain about how unfair their teacher was, i felt really fortunate.

Elissa is awesome!! I loved her class. I was expecting it to be boring, but it is so much fun. you do tons of art projects and watch some really interesting videos. I would definitley recommend taking this class with her.

I loved this class. If you're a more advanced artist looking to boost your GPA with a fun class, take design Fundimentals. You can make the projects as challenging or ok as you want. Elissa was fantastic and is super helpful getting you materials. Not very critical of work and supliments projects with short artist lectures. Great Teacher.

used to hate the class not i like it. was a bit more advanced artistically so i was dissapointed that we went so slow and that the art was supplemented often with reading and writing. she's a good grader though and even though she may come across as a **** at first, she'll soon warm up.
