Comment:

Professor Yukins is a professor that pushes you to live up to your full potential. She gives you great feedback, and you have to actually put effort into your work. The books you have to read for her class are great, from philosophers to fictional text with political tones. Take her if you want a brilliant professor, don't if you want just slack.

Great professor. She is very helpful and is willing to meet with students outside of class. She is a tough grader as she wants you to work for the grade. She was easily one of the harder professors I've had at John Jay but her discussions are always very exciting! There is a lot of reading and her quizzes are very specific. Besides that, she is a fair grader. As long as you put in the effort, you will get a good grade! She is also just an all around great person!

I was worried about my grade because I did not like the philosophy part of the class. but once we began to read interesting novels/stories I loved it and I began to actually read the books & look forward to her class. THERES ALOT OF READING BTW. The pop quizzes were tricky because the questions asked about specific details!!!!! READ CArefully!!!

Professor Yukins is truly one of a kind. I don't think I've ever looked forward going to a class before attending her class.There are required books,pop quizzes,heavy handouts. BUT you will want to read ALL of it, the way she connects lectures with the text will astound you. I learned so much about things aside from class material. I will miss her!

The one thing you should know is that Yukins is NOT, i repeat is NOT an easy A. You MUST MUST MUST (i cant stress this enough) must read the books and most of them arent on sparknotes (i checked). however, shes one of the most enthusiastic, funny and knowledgeable professors I'v had in my 4yrs at JJ. As long as you read, you'll love her classes.

She does require you to put in work in her class, but she tries to pick novels within the topc that cause you to think about ideas in new light. She is very enthusiastic in class and it's kinda infectious, she always keeps you interested

Professor Yukins is one of a kind. I loved her class. We read 5 books for her class and had 7 pop quizzes throughout the course of the class. You might think this is difficult but it really isn't. Not even challenging, because this is how our college experience should be. She is very understanding and friendly. Willing to work with her students.

It is true what others have said, you do HAVE TO READ A LOT. There are 2 papers to be done out of 5 books read. There is a total of 8 pop quiz on the book, over the course you will have an idea when they will be. Also, a project which can be done analytically or artistically. Prof. Yukins is HELPFUL! Pro. Yukins is great. she cares about the boooks so much and thats motivation enough. Participating in class can really do something for u, it did for me. Also, she gives random quizzes on the reading so make sure u do it and u have 2 papers outta 6 books .. u have options here ... take advantage, and take her class

She is such a great professor! Not to mention I think she's hot lmao, but she is pretty easy goingand laid back. We read about 6 books through the semester- she keeps it interesting! Attendance is mandatory but she loves to help out when she can. Gives about 8 quizzes and 2 papers.

Definitely one of the best prof. known to man, not only does she make you look forward to coming to class no matter how early it is, but she definitely makes you laugh and read in-between the lines. She's a tough grader and does gives quiz's(9) on the reading, so if ur looking for an easy A and are not quite the reader, this is not the class 4 u.

i like this professor. she has a great sense of humor which makes the class go by very fast. Nine pop quizzes but you can really predict when there is quiz. Great professor!
