Dr Caldwell is an exceptional professor. Her enthusiasm for her material is infectious. At the beginning of the semester I couldn't have imagined that by the end I would be able to read, understand, and enjoy Middle English! She is a tough grader, however her assignments are short and interesting so the class is not a chore.

She is truly such an inspiring person. Her feedback on papers is amazing, and she always encourages you to meet her during office hours if you need clarification. Take her if you can!

I love Caldwell; I would definitely take her again if I wasn't graduating. While she is an extremely hard grader, she makes you work for your grade and is always willing to give feedback. Responds to emails quickly and is really open to meeting at whatever time you can for her office hours. AMAZING PROFESSOR. She's a must if you're an ENGL. major.

Dr. Caldwell makes Chaucer fun and easy to understand. The class textbook is required. You will learn to read and speak Middle English. Weekly quizzes on the readings and a couple of essays with a clear thesis are part of the required homework. Lectures are inspiring. Expect to laugh at the raunchiness and sex puns used in the text. Great fun!

By far the best professor I've ever had. I've never met someone more passionate about teaching and her students. She is the most helpful, understanding, and challenging professor. Tough grader, but gives fantastic feedback. I've taken two classes and an independent study with her. She's helped improve my writing tremendously. Highly recommended!

Strict grader. Expect an in-class writing assignment every class. Also, speak up and answer questions. Midterm and final are hard and essay-based. Wonderful professor and human being- extremely helpful and compassionate in office hours. Defintiely take her, but prepare to WORK.

Hands down the best Professor I have ever had. Need help on your essay and don't have time to go to office hours? Email her. She responds 99% of the time within the first few hours after sending it. Very helpful. Really a joy to be in her class. I will take her for everything and anything she teaches. Makes you a better writer. Great class!!!

She doesn't take attendance ever, but her lectures are so thorough, you will really suffer for not going. Your grade is two papers and two exams. She is understanding and helpful if you ever need anything, including extensions and explanations of text, but she isn't handing grades out. She's tough but fair, one of the best professors I've ever had.

Caldwell is amazing. Her lectures are enthusiastic, so take notes! If you're having trouble with your papers, see her during office hours and she will help you find sources. Definitely not an esay A, she really makes you work for your grade. She is also a sticker for grammar and MLA, however she gives great feedback.

Fantastic, helpful, clear, flexible teacher. She is tough, but fair. Willing to help anyone who asks for it, and makes tough authors like Shakespeare and Chaucer not be as dreaded as they've been made out to be. By no means an easy A, but her feedback is clear, critical, and encouraging when warranted. If you have the opportunity, TAKE HER.

She's really nice one on one but I don't think she likes our class because she had to curve our grades for the first assignment. She grades HARD. Make sure you proofread 100x and perfect your MLA. I am bored by the subject but at least she has enthusiasm in lecture. Read the tales!!! Otherwise midterms & finals will hurt you. Be prepared!

Dr. Caldwell's the best. You will not find another prof so entertaining, challenging, organized, dedicated, and helpful. She goes above and beyond to make sure you understand and enjoy the text, and to help you become a better student. Read the text and go to all classes. My only complaint is that she spoils your expectations of future professors.

Professor Caldwell is a rock star. She is funny, irreverent, and knows her stuff. I became obsessed with Chaucer because of her and now can read Middle English. She is TOUGH (especially with MLA format) but an incredible teacher.

Easily one of the most fun classes I've ever taken. In the beginning it was a little hard, but the assignments she gives you in class aren't just for busywork, by the end of the class you understand what she's been teaching you. As a non-film major, definitely recommend this class and professor 100%!

Amazing teacher!! She can be a tough grader, but if you go to class every day and office hours once in awhile, you'll be fine. She's passionate, funny, and clearly loves her subject matter. She's totally invested in her students and is probably the most intelligent person I've ever met. Doesn't matter what the class is -- take her!
