His lectures are all over the place, skipping slides back and forth (goes from slide 10-27-4). Talks really fast and does not speak very clearly. Very difficult to understand. Lectures are basically useless, but I go for the random pop quiz. Basically have to use the textbook to teach yourself.

He's knowledgeable and his teaching skill is above average for a professor. It's straight forward even for a slow guy like me. His test, however, is quite tough and long for a 50 min tests. He's a tough grader too. Doing too many steps or few steps will cost you marks.

Had several weekly quizzes, 3 midterm and a final, but this may change in the future. Quizzes are somewhat harder but 70% is guaranteed for this part. Exams are fair given that you have carefully reviewed EVERY SINGLE POINT in lecture notes. Office hours are helpful so use them well. Warning: time consuming course.

He has absolutely no passion for teaching at all and does not care about student success at all. He did a small giggle when our 1st midterm average was 48%. He is a very intelligent organic chemist but has zero teaching abilities.

The course itself is quite challenging, and you really need to stay on top of your game! On top of the tough course, Fillion isn't lenient on marking, so follow his instructions carefully.

Don't do the sapling questions, it does not relate to the final at all. Personal experience: Do not make him think you disrespect him, the exams are short answers, he can mark whatever he wants. He takes things extreme personal. SO BE NICE during the course, then release your anger onto him all you want.

Hard class, especially when he`s teaching. Only asks hard questions on midterms and exams.Difficult to understand with his trenchen and intermagates and carbocathions. Loves orgo though, seems like a nice guy if orgo isn`t the subject.

He was very helpful if you meet him in his office but only if you have shown that you know something(just show that you sort of know what your talking about). The final was fair, expect to know the hardest reactions shown in class. First midterm = breeze, second midterm = rape. The book is needed! Don't get behind or your done.

Nice person. Lazy Marker. You can do something correctly but if it is not exactly what he wants, you will not get the marks.

8:30 in the mornings, in a monotonic voice with a Quibecois touch, he talks to the board.. His lecture is not enjoyable. He is a good organic chemist and can be helpful if you go to his office hour. My class average was 49.5, with marks scaled up already, apparently. Watch out! ..oh. Use the textbook! It the best (of the 6, 7 similar ones I've read)

A lot of people give him a bad reputation because they can't do organic chemistry, but the truth is he's a good prof and is willing to go slow step by step with you as long as you're going to put out the effort.

Got very behind in the course and did last 20% in one week. He just took notes from the texbook powerpoints and was useless, especially when he went to fast. Didn't seem enhuiastic at all.

He explains concepts very clearly and is willing to help as long as you've put forth an effort in trying to figure out what's going on. His tests are fair and the assignments are useful to help learn the material.

He's a really nice guy and will offer you help when u need it, just prove you did some work beforehand or else he'll get mad at you! He really wants his student to do well but he mumbles a lot and doesn't use a mic. Midterm was quite easy but final is BRUTAL. Know your mechanisms SUPER WELLL! Textbook and assignments are great study tools!

He really, really wants the students to do well and explains a lot on the slides that he presents from the text book. You MUST keep up with the text book questions. The midterm was fair and similar to the assignments, but the final was ridiculously hard, brace yourself!

Mumbles his lectures to the class; were it not for the microphone, you would not hear a single word. The lectures are just reading off of slides available from the textbook website, and is thus quite unhelpful. When I went to his office for help, the response was "How can you not understand??" and no actual help. Avoid this prof if possible.

If you are willing to keep up and do the problems in this text, this course is very fair, everything is taught from the text, their are no tricks, the assignments are very helpful in preparing you for the exam, it takes time getting to understand him, but after, everything is explained well.

His lectures are same as the textbook. The only time that I fully understood his lecture was when we had to read the chapter beforehand for labs. Heloves when students go see him, but he can be annoying for 1on1. Midterms and exams are 10x harder than the assignments. To do well try doing every single mechanism/synthesis problems from textbooks.

Terrible. Constantly draws out mechanisms on the blackboard, and I could barely keep up with him and barely had time to even listen to his explanations. No website, no course notes given. Assignments did not prepare us for the final exam at all. References an old edition of the text that hasn't been used in a couple years, or gives no references.
