Great professor! Has a very monotone voice, so at first I thought his class was going to be boring and painful, but he turned out to be a very funny guy. He is very passionate about sociology and it really shows. He also goes out of his way when grading tests and papers to show you how you can improve.

Great teacher, was slipping off in the beginning of the year and he basically told me to get my &&&& together so I wouldn't end up failing. He really does care about his course, you can tell that he really cares about what he teaches. take his class!

I took this class because I enjoy Sociology and the environment, but I am completely disappointed. i've never had a prof who invested less in a class than this one. the students literally teach the class.

Rude and not helpful. I went to see him for help on my paper, he was 20 minutes late and could barely talk to me, and then I emailed him part of paper for him to evaluate before it was due, and all he did was send me a paper he had written. How is that supposed to help me?

Mixed feelings. When Friedman taught he was very interesting and demonstrated a great deal of knowledge (his dry sense of humor was also appreciated.) Problem is he rarely taught but instead let a student present each class's subject as an assignment. I paid for an expert to teach me, not a peer.
