My all time favorite prof! He's a great tutorial leader too! He provides lecture outline but you must attend to fill the missing info. Course is a challenge, but workload is not too heavy. Really caring and helpful! Love his sense of humour and love that the material covered is primarily primary sources. I've learned a lot. Very intelligent man!

Very intellectual, but not much help in clarifying what he is looking for in a paper. Classes are entertaining and MUST be attended to get all the nuances and points associated with texts. Good use of primary sources. If you like a challenge and are familiar with Judaism, this class is for you!

Excellent Professor, leads class discussions with clarity and an accomodating spirit. A great sense of humor, which makes the 1.5 hours go by without difficulty, and a fair marker. Students MUST come to class prepared and with experience wit primary source analysis (which one should have in a fourth year HIST course). Does not appreciate slackers.

very interesting, lots of readings, be prepared to write for the whole lecture period, does let you leave early ;) TA is very helpfull and simplyfies the lectures... just do the readings and you'll be fine...tests are easy...get the questions b4 the exam
