Go to his office, and he will help you so much. He's really nice, and he's helpful one on one. I also happen to think that he's good in lecture. Try to do ALL your readings, and I think that you will do well. Use his backtests to study. He curves tests.

Dr. Williamson is a really nice guy but I don't think teaching lecture is his forte - I have heard that he is better as a lab instructor. His tests generally are not too difficult and they're curved, but don't think you'll get a good grade without studying plenty.

Great teacher who explained things well in class and was always willing to meet and clarify any points of confusion. His tests are tough, but if you read the book and take notes you'll get an easy A.

Comment:

Wonderful guy on a personal level. Best advisor and research mentor. I admire and respect him highly. Exams are hard, but he challenges you to think more, which I liked. If you go talk to him he explains things very very well by making you think, not by telling you. Highly recommended.

He always seemed to be 20 thoughts ahead and it was difficult for him to actually answer any questions that we had as students. I would definitely avoid him at all costs! He's a great man and yet such an awful man for a prof.

Doesn't know what he wants on tests..hard as hell. Feels like you are playing with a broken arm against him...takes off points like they are going outta style...he is an anal guy, like the type of chemist he is...good chemist...terrible teacher

Though Williamsen may be a good Chemistry professor, he is not well suited to teach a discussion based course like CIE. In addition, he seems rather nervous when outside of a laboratory environment.

He is not the best one out there. I would not choose him as a professor. As a person he is nice. As a teacher he is not comfortable in large groups, so that means that his lecture is purely powerpoint. I would not choose him as a Gen Chem professor.
