The class was very hands-off, make 1 film for the entire qtr. With barely any lectures; the school needs to reassess the class as it only once a week. Also, the class is not in a computer lab, which is necessary to learn how to edit films. Overall, I wished I had been given more. Honestly, I learned more in the Introduction to Moving Images course.

Probably the funnest class I have taken at UCR. You basically have 10 weeks to create a film of your choosing. You can work alone or together but she gives really good feedback if needed. Overall, I would love to take her class again!

Not really fond of her as a professor. She's a nice lady but she demands a lot out of you. Be prepared to stay on top of EVERYTHING. She's also not the greatest lecturer so it's very easy to lose her. But It's not a bad class. It's just not worth it. There're more interesting classes with better professors. I wouldn't take another class of hers.

As an Art major, I honestly had no interest in taking this class, that being said, this class was still interesting though. There are weekly blogs you have to do and some have more reading than others. Basically, a lot of reading in this class. Did I mention a lot of reading? Other than lots of reading, it's just a midterm and take home final.

Erika is very intelligent. The subject matter is all over the place and so are the readings. Many readings are required before each class. Attendance is required. The subject matter is so spastic and dense. I still have a lot of unanswered questions and I feel like I hardly got anything. A lot of it went over my head.

Erika is an awesome professor. Ya her class asks for a lot of work but what do you expect when the topic is ART THEORY. It may get boring but if you are an artist this class is necessary but totally useful and worth all the work that you do. Id totally take it again. PS. If you're lazy then you definitely need to change that for this class to pass

Her class is sooo boring! I fell asleep all the time! The TA was dumb too. I like art but she turned me off from artist... the subject seemed so interesting and she ruined it. I did all of the blogs and the midterm was out of all the terms and she picked 10 -_- the final was hard...even tho it was take home...I wish i didnt take her class

Attendance is mandatory and although it may not be the most interesting subject, she is very knowledgeable in what she teaches. Take notes even though there are no "slides" but focus on what she says and it helps for the final and the midterm. There's an in class midterm but a take home final. Best Upper Division Course I've taken.

This professor has been nothing but helpful and full of amazing information! I highly recommend her if you want to learn about art and are willing to do the work required to learn. She puts in a lot of effort in her classes to make them visually stimulating and highly interesting. If you are an artist-take her!
