Comment:
Although Ms. Austin is a wealth of knowledge she should not be a teacher. She skips around when giving lectures. She loses her train of thought and just skips to something else. This makes it next to impossible to take notes during her extremely dry and long lectures. The labs last about 5-10 minutes. Get the book and teach yourself!

I took Mrs Austin's class Fall of 2014. She is absolutely awesome. Her lectures are long, but you learn from them. She does expect you to participate in class. Tests are open book, they do offer some extra credit on them as well. Some hands on stuff but not much. She will help you after hours and responds to emails. Definitely a great person.

She is a great teacher. She sticks to her syllabus. Does some hands-on stuff in class. Mostly lectures. She is a wealth of knowledge. I would take her again as a professor any day. She is very inspirational as well. Her tests are usually open notes open book. gives you time to prepare. She truly wants everyone to succeed.

There is absolutely NO teaching done. She merely puts up powerpoints, tells you to read the book then take the online exam. There are 4 exams worth your entire grade, no homework, no interaction at all. This is essentially a pay 300$ to teach yourself, I could have bought the book and did all this on my own! EVEN THE EXAM GRADING IS AUTOMATED.

She is by far the worst professor I have had at tri c she does not care about her students she uses power points from a college in California were not allowed to use the computers at all there is absolutely no hands labs in her class at all. I took 1 of the four CCNA classes with her. I will never take a class with her again.

i won't recommend her to anybody. i gave up 90% of of my study time to her class and end up with a C. i spread the 10% between 3 other classes and end up with 3 As.

Her class was horrible from the start. Frustrating errors in Blackboard, awful recordings, and my favorite, arrogance seeping from every sentence. I think I said "Really!?" many times, stunned at her arrogance and overall failure as a teacher. Do NOT take any of her classes. The tests were rough, but manageable if you read the book thoroughly.

She is worthless.You may get to "see" a router or switch during the 4 class Cisco Exploration Academy, but you won't get to wire a port or turn it on to config. She doesn't care about students or their desire to learn and get Cisco certified. She has tenure (believe it or not!). As per CCC-W staffers: take it at CCC-E w/ D Shutway, Cisco CCNP.....

She is extremely arrogant yet is far from worthy of her self confidence. She is a terrible teacher, she doesn't even know the subject entirely herself, makes blatant mistakes. She doesn't take any responsibility or provide assistance for students' success, yet will take all the credit. If you need help, she will tell you to talk to someone else.

Horrible instructor...Don't even know how she is certified nor does she demonstrate real world experience. My biggest gripe was no hands on learning at all. She doesn't gear her teaching to the certification exam nor spoke/motivate students to take exam. I have learned more on my own than from this instructor. Very moody instructor.

Does not explain well, no will to help students, not informative, reads power point presentations which covers 10% of what's on the test if you want the rest then read the book, you're on your own, 8 week class - 4 100 question tests, makes the students feel stupid when they ask questions, not descriptive at all, no help in labs, i think you get it

Ms. Austin has a pretty clear syllabus and her teaching method is pretty straightforward. Making the grade in her classes isn't that difficult. I think there were a lot of inapproprite things written in some of the other assessments.
