Great teacher. Give her a break, people! Loved the Romantics, had a passion for poetry. I miss her. Maybe it was dealing with some of you dullards that put her to sleep.

Hers was one of the most difficult of the classes I'd taken at Hunter. Looking back, having graduated, I appreciate her intensity and love of Shakespeare just about every time the category comes up on Jeopardy! She really knows her stuff and loves the Bard. Prepare to work really hard to get an A though.

She is the best professor I ever had She really made the students think for themselves and that gave us all a feeling of accomplishment. She made me feel smart. Taking her class really made me change how I look at school. And trust me it was for the better!

She is long past her prime. Fell asleep in class, had to have help with everything from putting on her sweater to going to the bathroom to getting a cab. All we did was read aloud.. attendance didn't count.. by the end of the semester, nobody showed. A class this dull needs an exciting, lively teacher. TIME CRAWLS! Take another 372, not this one!

This class was a breeze! Sure, we read outloud most the class but she is fairly amusing in her odd ways. If you're looking for an easy going professor teaching this (sometimes) dreadful class, pick Leoff :)

A terrible teacher, one of the worst I've had. Each class consisted of her having students read Shakespeare's plays aloud for the entire 75 minutes. It was maddening: people mangle the language, the teacher interrupts constantly, and you feel your time has been wasted.

I was a student of Prof. Leoff's in the late 60s and early 70s. She was a wonderful instructor with a truly gifted mind and a great passion for literature. Her discussions of Blake, Keats, and the other romantics were inspiring.

She dragged the class through 6 weeks of Hamlet, dragging it out till 25% of the class dropped out. I was one of her favorites, and she made me read out loud a lot, which I didn't mind but not a lot of teaching went on. Past her prime, apparently.

She is an elderly professor, and her class proceeds rather slowly. But her passions for Shakespeare is impressive. She also cares a lot about her students, and often makes us laugh and smile with her sense of humor. :)

I adored Professor Leoff. Her poetry workshops in the early 80's were magic...great work produced by college kids because of a great and encouraging teacher. Studied the romantic poets with her...her enthusiasm was catching!

We spent 6 weeks on _A Midsummer Night's Dream_ (what a nightmare!) and then rushed through all of the other plays. Basic breakdown of a 75 minute class with her: 30 minutes of Shakespeare and 45 minutes of her mother.

Who is she kidding? If this prof. spent more time talking about lit. and less time complaining about her health problems, men problems, childhood complexes, etc., maybe we'd learn something. She repeats herself ad nauseum, and picks favorites.
