Man, oh man is this class worth it to boost your GPA. Attendance is mandatory and has an effect on your final grade with each missed class docking 5 points off your final exam grade. ALL of the tests are online and the other posted material is part of the grade as well. I wouldn't really pay attention to the lecture but Dr Arans is amazing.

She is a professor who is very passionate and knowledgeable about what she teaches. She rambles a lot, but you can work on other things and pass. The exams are incredibly easy since they are take-home open note and the paper is pass/fail. However she is very unclear on whats graded/due. Just get your work done while its online

Very informative and respectful prof. the books are not required however to learn the material study the notes she posts on the blackboard and take the practice quizzes. Class is very relaxing and I would take another course with this prof. Attendance participation grade

This was tough to get through. She is an older woman with a THICK Russian accent. She is also a SUPER quiet talker, which sucks because we had the class in a HUGE lecture hall and she would almost NEVER use a microphone. The first exam was in class, but because multiple people did poorly on it, the rest of the tests and final was online.

I always found myself doing other work during class because I couldn't understand her accent and she posted everything online. Attendance is mandatory, just show up and sign your name on the sheet. Most of the tests were online and we could have cheat sheets for the ones that weren't. Easy A and caring professor, would often let us out early.

Super easy class one of the easiest I have taken. You just have to know the gist of the epics story for the test. Most of our exams including the final were online. Lots of extra credit opportunities.

Although her accent is hard to understand. This class is easy A. If you push her she will let you have a cheat sheet for the exam or even take the exam online. The snipets I do understand are interesting but honestly it's a good class to get other work done in.

shes very respectful and informative. Attendance counts towards participation grade, 4 mcq exams, 1 pass/fail paper & tons of extra credit opportunities. Don't buy the books either study the sources she posts on blackboard, take the practice quizzes or review sparknotes. :) would definitely take another class with this prof.

I can barley understand her or hear her during her lectures. She posts all the PowerPoints on Blackboard. An attendance sheet is passed around during class, so attendance is mandatory. I took most of my tests online, including my final, so the class is really easy to pass.

you might feel like you aren't getting her point due to her accent, but she is truly an amazing person and very informative professor. I would highly recommend taking her. class had 3 tests and a final in addition to a paper. all easy and open note, paper was a pass/fail, which was a piece of cake. extra credit was available.

Prof. Arans was very caring, and the class was easy. but very boring I only went to class because attendance was mandatory, but I often found myself doing other work during her class. Everything is posted online and most of the exams will be online too, depending on how she feels. Our final was posted online! Overall, a good class and easy A.

Attendance is mandatory (if you miss more than three classes your final grade will be docked half a letter grade). Your grade comes down to four pretty easy tests. She will give out some answers to the tests the class before, and the tests are taken online at home (if the class asks her). About as easy an A you will find for a 300-level class.

Went to class a total of 4 times during the semester. Got an A. Find a group of friends and take turns signing each other in for the attendance. Exams were all online but even with Google, were relatively hard to complete. She hands out answers to exams the class before an exam, so make sure to attend those. 4 exams and one final. Easy A.

Olga Arans is a nice professor. Attendance is mandatory, so you need to go class every time. However, the interim tests are relatively easy, so if you prepare a little, you could get good grades. Also, sometimes the cheat sheet is allowed.

I hardly went to class (I couldn't understand her), but it is definitely an easy A!! She's a sweet lady, and if you ask her for extra credit, she will give it to you lol. Test questions are verbatim from study guides. Just show up for the exams and you got your A.

Attendance was not required, but you can't earn the extra credit participation points if you don't attend. Textbooks not required, everything you need to study is available online. There are several "practice" tests on the different topics, and those questions are used on the 4 tests. Final reuses all questions. Basically show up and pass.

Easy A but makes you want to rip your hair out because of how boring it is. She takes off five points for every missed class even though her tests were online. You can quizlet the answers to her tests for 100% and the final was open note in class and was 80% made up of questions from previous tests.

Easy A of a class to replace English literature. There's a sign in sheet passed around majority of the classes. Lecture was boring and the jousts don't really count. Quizlet the jousts if you want a perfect score. Exams are based off jousts. 1 in class, 1 take home, and 2 online exams. Final is taken in class and were based off the four exams.
