Dr. Ewa is a lovely person and prof. She was extremely knowledgeable about phonology and was very helpful when someone asked a question. There's a lot of material in this course so you move quickly but there's a good mix of hands on work which really helps with your understanding. Assignments were hard but midterm was entirely fair.

Ewa is a great prof. I definitely recommend her as a prof and this course (Languages in a Global Context). I really appreciate the way that Ewa facilitates student learning and doesn't control it. There's a lot of freedom to explore here!

Ewa covers the course material at a good pace, though her powerpoint slides are far too wordy. If you ask nicely she will post them online for you. She gave me good feedback on my written reflections & assignments. Ewa is very clear about her expectations and provides grading rubrics for major assignments. Very helpful in & outside of class.

Ewa is easily the most passionate teacher I have ever met. She goes out of her way to always be available and fosters critical thinking and intrinsic reflection of concepts above all else. Her tests can be hard, but always fair. I wish I had other classes of hers to take. She loves her students and her students clearly love her.

Ewa is the most passionate teacher I have ever had. Sometimes she would be so affected by something we discussed that she would get teary. Now I have her for 440 and she makes it so much clearer than I understood previously. Although it is a tough subject, Ewa really wants you to succeed and do well in her class.

Ewa is a very passionate and sweet teacher. She really cares about helping her students and making sure they understand. I found her tests very long and not all that easy. Having said that, she does give as many points as she can, even if your answer is wrong. If you work adds up to your answer and it is logical, you will get marks! :)

Very interesting and exciting class! Ewa is so passionate about the subject and has lots of personal experience which she shares. Lectures and assignments were clear and interesting. I learned things in this class that I will never forget.

amazing teacher! really wants you to learn and helps you as much as she can. gives challenging assignments, but give marks for truely trying even if the answer is wrong. lets you know what will be on the test. excellant teacher,definitely want to take more classes from her :)

Wonderful teacher. She's make sure we were all clear on a topic before moving on---and she was willing to spend more time than was written on the syllabus to go over a topic. Her tests & assignments, though not easy are fair. The textbook for this course wasn't that great though---it contradicted some points made in class & assignments.
