Honestly one of the best courses you can take as a programmer (from an interest point of view), and he is probably the best person to teach it. He might be too smart. The course material is hard but if you actually understand and do the assignments you should fare well on the exams.

Comment:

Very knowledgeable, insightful, good sense of humour, good command of the room. Covers the material well but you *must* pay attention and attend classes. Assignments were long & challenging, 2 hours per question 6 questions per assign.; Without google I would have be lost. Studied hard, had to do tonnes of programming exercises to get an 'A'.

Only rated attendance as 2 because he does not post course notes online. That 2 is to show up to class to see what he's got even if it is against your will. He is not great for asking questions... and does not teach the basics. RIP my career

I'm not sure but it was his first time teaching a first year course but he did an excellent job. He is actually brilliant. Knows his stuff so well. He tries to interact with students a lot so that we get something in our head after the class.

One of the most brilliant teachers at Carleton, thoroughly enjoyed his classes; on which note, don't take them if you mind challenges or want an easy grade. This guy hates idiots and wrong answers it seems, but will definitely sharpen your thought process.
