I took Fab two semesters in a row - JRN3705 & JRN3706. She's an exceptional professor. She's passionate about what she lectures & she leads excellent class discussions. Her tests are lengthy & all short-answer/essay- she'll curve if necessary. A lot of writing assignments. Do the work & you'll pass. I'd take her again if I could, I loved her.

Took her for Gender and Mass Media and wow the course is a tale of two worlds. Half of the grade is easy work -- participation, reading responses, media example, but then the other half are the midterm and final + case studies. Interesting class, but she is a hard grader. Make sure you work hard as hell on the easy points.

Love this class. Before the semester began I didn't know how I would like this, but it is by far the most interesting class so far. Great discusion and outside info used. The readings she assigns are more than relevant and applicable to more than just this class. She also has a great sense of humor.

Easy As? Hell no! I put in much more work (6 papers & 30+ pages) for Fab's Gender & Mass Media class than any other class. She's ridiculously tough on grading...if you don't know what 'passive voice' is, then you will fail the class. I got a lot out of the class, but I also did a whole lot of complaining along the way.
