he is literally the absolute worst teacher i have ever had in my entire life. i do not know why tcu still gave him a job. i asked him how to do a problem and he just said "that's how you do it" and laughed. did not learn a single thing and i went to every class. only (barely) passed with a tutor. people do well if taken calc before

Terrible. Don't take this class, if you don't already know everything there is to know about Calculus then you will not make a good grade. You have to learn everything in office hours, in class you won't learn anything.

Worst teacher I've had in my 13 years of schooling. Can't speak clear English, much less teach calculus. If you ask a question in class, he will either spend an hour answering a bunch of other questions slightly related to yours, or he will ridicule you. Yes, he actually called me dumb in front of class for asking a question. Absolutely horrific.

I took Applied Calc from him (his name is actually Fan Peng). He's really hard to understand and doesn't know how to answer your questions but you can get by. He gives extra credit and grades the homework for correctness. If you aren't good at math don't take this class!! I got a solid A but had to teach myself from the textbook.

Very cute lil entertaining man but really bad teacher. Can't really understand him at all, always takes the whole class for one or two problems, talked about very irrelevant issues in the class. If you are'nt good at math... DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS

Fan started his life in some Oriental Country, and boy can you tell. He butchers the English language to beyond recogintion, and his tests are almost incoherent. If you are not good at Calculus do not expect to learn how to be from this teacher.

He marked me off for spelling. Probably one of the worst teachers I've ever had. Doesn't explain, not accessable outside of class, you can't understand, incredibly tough grader (to the point of being ridiculous).

He gives alot of extra credit (asks questions in class). It is a hard class, though I have never been good at Calc. He is almost always available for help outside of class. Highly recomend meeting with him in office, very good 1 on 1 teaching.
