There were no power point given. He would just give lectures from the text book that were all over the place and most of the time the lectures where just life lessons. He was very unorganized and expects you to read every chapter and understand it.I don't recommend taking this class with him.

He is very sweet, basically like a grandpa. But only take him if you are not a biology major. He does not do the full curriculum, but will challenge you with the material that he does teach. I was okay with not learning all of it because I am only taking Bio101. Sometimes helpful and sometimes not.

Comment:

As he lectures, he likes to stop midsentence and expect the class to finish what he is saying. Most of the times he does this, his message is ambiguous so the class is hesitant to respond. It's a rather poor method of teaching, and he gets tight when we don't respond. He also goes at a very slow pace, only teaching about 50% of what's on the tests.

Faz is a sweet, older guy whose lectures can be intense. He doesn't want you to just read the chapter before class, but to know it inside and out. He calls on random kids and will make you feel like an idiot if you don't know the answer. Always show up five minutes early. Sometimes he starts a minute early and does not tolerate lateness. STUDY.

He has a reputation by some as a tough grader and a difficult professor. I took him freshman first semester and haven't had a problem. Keep up with a little bit of reading and you'll be fine. All of the tests he gave were multiple choice and he's more than happy to answer questions that you may have. Participate a bit and you'll be fine.

Dr. Fazio is one of the warmest person I have ever met at iona. He only asks us to study the material and make sure we know it all because science isnt an easy subject. He is an approachable man and he is also like a father figure (To the students who attempts putting in work) Just put in the work, and you'll get a good grade.

I just had dr. fazio last year for both semesters and his class is VERY easy. All you have to do is read the textbook and you're fine. But beware, he is extremely condescending and rude to students. He treats them like children & once told my class he was going to make a test hard to "separate the stupid kids from the lazy ones." avoid if possible

Dr. Fazio is a good teacher but his tests are VERY hard. you MUST read the chapters and thoroughly understand them. TAKE NOTES IN CLASS, almost all of the questions on the tests are from class notes. he will tear you a new one if you fall asleep or text in class. Also he loves students who ask questions. Overall a good teacher, but its a hard class
