Great guy, hard grader. If you're not the best writer then make sure to talk to him about your papers. Really utilize the per-editing days because those are essential. Don't think you can pass the class by writing the paper the night beforehand. Put in the work and you'll get the grade.

Alongside subject material I gained insight about life. Within the requirements of the class you are given opportunity to work with topics that matter and hold weight. This is something I appreciated that is not usually found within a 102 class. You will have 4 essays throughout the class. Utilize his feedback on essays and you will excel!

Very good teacher. Offers a lot of advice and feedback, you do need to buy the book for his English 102 class because you will be tested on some of the material. Although he can be a tough grader, he teaches well and will challenge you.

Some of my friends complained that he was a tough grader, but he spent time with alot of us before and after class. If you didn't like your grade on a paper it was probably because you didn't follow his directions.

I thought the class was laid out well, and everything we did contributed to helping me become a better writer. The peer editing days is where I felt I gained the most from the class because I got great feedback. Having said that, I do think that the timed online tests were tough, but that is a minor point compared to the overall instruction.

I've taken AP English in high school and found him challenging yet genuinely caring about his students . He was clear about his expectations and worked with us on peer editing days to help us write better essays. I improved my writing because I understand the process better.

I liked that all the assignments were placed on Blackboard by the week with due dates highlighted. He returned papers graded and with helpful comments no later than 5 days. Probably the best English teacher I've had both in high school and college.

Extremely harsh grader. He expects way too much from his students. This course seems more like a 300 level course class than a 102. He also makes you print many papers from Blackboard, when we didn't use even half of them. Take a different teacher if possible!

Very specific, knows exactly what he wants from each sentence. Tough grader and attendance matters big time. 4 absences and you fail for my class.

"If three or more sentence fragments, comma splices, or run on sentences exist, your paper will receive a grade no higher than 50%" (direct quote from his list of requirements for one of the major essays) If that doesn't make you want to avoid this professor than I'm not sure what will. Ridiculously tough grader with high expectations.

He's a tough grader, but gives great feedback. No tests except a few grammar quizes. Other than that we've had about 5 papers, surprisingly all but one have been 1 page long. Lectures are very boring though.

I found him to be arrogant, opinionated and pompous. I would not recommend him to anyone, in fat I would tell you to steer clear if you have that option.
