I took his Special focus: Persons Over Time class and loved it. I'm not good at philosophy but i made sure to take the time and read all his assignments and show up to all his classes to make sense of it all and I don't know how he did it, but he really taught me a lot about philosophy! If you get the chance to take him, you won't regret it.

I took the class "Persons over time" with Professor Ablondi, and overall, I enjoyed it. The subject overall is very interesting. As long as you show up to class, and somewhat understand the material, you will pass. The exams are opinionated, meaning you just need to know what you are talking about to make an A, which is easy if you show up to class

One of my favorite professors on campus. Although somewhat soft-spoken, Dr. Ablondi is an incisive lecturer with an uncanny ability for making the most impenetrable topics understandable to students. He's a born philosopher and an exceptional teacher, and I strongly recommend any of his courses. Very relatable and very knowledgeable.

He is the string bean of my life. I love him and that class so much. Special focus: Persons over time was a wonderful experience and highly recommend it. Only qualm was 4 total tests. If you tank one you're screwed but have no fear he is there to help.

Excellent professor! His Intro to Philosophical Questioning class made me want to become a Philosophy major. Although 19th Century Philosophy is much harder and less discussion based he makes the material easy to understand. Go to class everyday and take good notes. He looks for specifics for the essay question tests so good notes are critical.

The sort of professor you want to have a beer with. I first met him when asking about articles he had written that I read for another class Available for questions and is open to just about anything whether directly related to a class or not. He has an amazing ability to simplify complex concepts to the point that it could be explained to a 5yr old

Comment:
Dr. Ablondi was clear to the point of repetitive, and very accommodating. He explains things so deliberately that he comes off as less smart than he is. I like that he focuses on philosophy rather than its history. Hopefully he excepts more critical thought in higher level courses -- I barely had to think at all compared to math classes.

Ablondi is a brilliant professor. Crystal clear explanations of fairly heavy philosophical precepts. Can wax repetitive sometimes, but that's just to make sure you get the material. I absolutely loved his class.

Boring class... ablondi was slightly more interesting than the reading material, not a whole lot. grading incomprehensible--poor paper got an A, good one got a C. Nice guy, though. Recommended for majors ONLY.

He makes the material clear, but is lenient with grading. He takes papers very seriously, and I'm unaware of him having ever given a 100. However it is not difficult to make an A.
