Cutler was an excellent prof it''s not his fault the course is in such a horrendous format. The ''blended learning'' model is frankly bad. Cutler however makes classes interesting. We flipped shoes for a class and he even let a few students who finished the exam early play on their phones while they waited for the exam to end.

His lectures are interesting and easy to follow. He makes the material easy to understand. What he says will be on the exams is exactly what is on them. Great Prof.

It's a tough course (for those who do not do math), but you can do well in it if you try. The assignments are key. Do them early and bring them to your TA to go over. This will help you for the final. On the final manage your time well - most people didn't finish the exam in my class. Fred is an amazing professor though - kind and helpful.

It's a Pre-req. Does not mean it has to be boring. While the subject matter is dry, Cutler does his best to make it more interesting and understandable. I really enjoyed reading Drunkard's Walk (Supp. Reading) and his TAs were helpful. The mark I got on final was very low compared to midterms and assignmnets however... He says he did it to curve.

He wasn't a bad prof at all, tried to be funny and engaging. I enjoyed his lectures, if only the content was interesting. Did not enjoy poli 380, but it was a mandatory course for poli sci majors. The course had 4 assignments, bi-weekly quizzes, and a final. The assignments were quite difficult, but the TAs were helpful.

His class is mandatory and although it was pretty uninteresting, his assignments are clear and fairly easy if you do the textbook and go to the labs.

Easy marking scheme, with assignments and no paper. His lecture slides are complicated, maybe too complicated. Thank goodness for the textbook to make sense of his notes! Overall nice guy, always encouraging class discussion and told us exactly what to know for the midterm/final.

Note to previous poster: Cutler actually applied the 2% bonus in class (clarified by his last email). Pretty good professor, he made Stats bearable, great sense of humour. Possible to succeed in midterm and final, but some things that came up weren't even raised in class. Assignments were straight-forward. I thought Cutler was very good overall.

The only reason this class was bearable was because of him. Assignments aren't too difficult, not too much reading, and he posts all the notes online. However, the 2% bonus we were promised never happened, so that was lame. Overall, good prof.

Great prof and all round really good guy. He knows so much about the topic and you can always count on him to have something interesting (and hilarious) to add. Classes varied from lectures to discussions to surfing the internet for political sites, polls and news stories. He cares about his students and values their opinions. Best class I've taken

No research essay or formal exam was nice. Weekly papers were tough to get a good mark on as you could never quite tell what this prof wanted. Most readings were extremely boring and discussion was dull at best. Nice professor but took FOREVER to return assignments!! As for the class: easy credits but you won't learn much you didn't already know.

FC makes things pretty painless for non-math-people. Pretty dog gone disorganized at times. Lulls students into a false sense of security then slams them with a tough exam. Put in some effort and you'll do fine. All around good guy while occasionally frustrating.

Nice guy and good lecturer. I feel bad for him because the course is terrible and yet he has to teach it. His powerpoint notes are colloquial and jumbled. Great at returning emails.

He knows we're only in the class because its a requirement and can make fun of it. He's super nice, and very approachable. The practise midterm/final were just like the actual ones and he makes it VERY clear what you need to know and what kind of answer he's looking for. Know the assignment answers and you'll be fine.

Many would assume that quantitative methods is really boring - it could be. Cutler was really good about it. His jokes and comments made the class easier to bare. He's a really good prof. I'm actually interested in this stuff now.
