Professor Dauvergne is absolutely fantastic! Each lecture was amazing in its own way because of how much he cares about trying to help students understand the politics of global environmentalism. Very fair marker, but may not be the type of prof for some people who are shy, as he will call on people randomly based on TopHat submissions at times.

Professor Dauvergne is a captivating speaker. His enthusiasm for the subject of environmental politics made each 50 minute class pass by in a flash. His lecture slides are used as jumping off points for discussion, keeping you constantly engaged. He is extremely helpful with extensions and feedback. Would highly recommend taking his class!

Dr. Dauvergne is a real gem. So passionate about what he is teaching, and encourages you to find topics that you are really interested in, and write about those topics. Always replies to e-mails quickly, and is available through office hours. Great lecturer and professor, highly recommend taking Global Environmental Politics with him.

Dr. Dauvergne is a real specimen. Founded the MIT Journal of Global Environmental Politics, globally respected, could easily be at an Ivy. He's the perfect blend of genius and professor: he loves the material but genuinely cares about your learning. He's always accessible by office hour or email. He's incredibly fair and tries to limit bias.

Peter is one of the best lecturers I have ever had. He is engaging, funny and he is really passionate about the subject. His assignments are tough but straightforward, and he challenges you to find something you find interesting. While its obvious he has his own views on environmental politics, he presented everything from a neutral perspective.

What a wonderful professor! Great lecturer, interesting material and fair amount of readings! No midterm just an op-ed, paper and final. Topics are fascinating and prof is amazing to listen to. Very passionate and engaging. Course requires fair bit of participation in Top Hat (extra bonus marks too). Fair marker, refer to readings during exam.

Absolutely amazing professor. Came back to teaching after a 10 year hiatus and you can tell he's been longing to teach. This is already a fascinating topic and his decades of experience in this field adds depth and value to this class. His online component seems daunting but makes to class so much better. Best prof at UBC in my time here.

If you get a chance to take a tutorial with him, do so. The readings are intense but fair, and you get out of the class as much as you're willing to put in. Students are encouraged to engage with one another in a seminar setting. His class was one of the first times I've felt treated as an intellectual and an adult at UBC.

Nice guy, really personable. Readings were fair, lectures almost word for word from the text (that he wrote). Tests were also fair, and he outlines exactly what he wants you to say. Solid class, but somehow dissapointing and left me feeling unfufilled. Maybe I've taken too many POLI courses, and they are begining to become repetitive.

Okay... I am STILL a Capitalist Pig (and so very proud of it) but I ALSO enjoyed the class. It was pretty easy, and the textbook is great, because it admits that the Market Liberal (Capitalist) perspective is the dominant one is the world. So, I enjoyed the REALISM of this course ~ it wasn't some hippy-dippy socialist environmentalist fantasy.

you can tell he wants to make a difference. He wants to teach in an unorthodox fashion but fails. Exams are straight out regurgitations of reading materials. Opens your mind to a wide variety of environmental debates!
