Comment:

The 4th semester is different from the rest of his Greek classes. On the plus side, you get to read real Greek and not just textbook exercises. On the minus side, the readings are pretty difficult and are too far of a jump from the text. Dobrov is still very understanding and tries his best to help us through it.

Dr. Dobrov is awesome! He's really funny and super helpful. His class is very simple so long as you keep up with the homework and he's very lenient with mistakes. Attendance is not mandatory, but there are daily quizzes so it is recommended. If you are at all interested in Greek, even slightly, take Dobrov!

Advanced Greek with Dobrov is a lot of fun. SInce the class is once a week, there's always a quiz. He's really lenient, though. What makes Dobrov so awesome is that he is helpful, understanding, hilarious, and informative. He knows a lot and is willing to help students grow. Take any class with Dobrov, I promise you won't regret it.

I had the opportunity of being in Dobrov's greek "experience" for 2 years. You MUST take him if you are the least bit interested in classics. If you show up and show interest you WILL be an A because he is just that good of a teacher. Made me want to take Greek for 2 years and I am a computer science major... nuff said.

Dr. Dobrov is one of the best professors I've ever had at Loyola. He is an expert at many languages and knows how to effectively and easily teach a language. Greek with him is really fun and easy. There are daily quizzes, a take-home midterm, and a take-home final. He is understanding, flexible, and HILARIOUS. I highly recommend him for any class.

Dobrov is hands down the best professor I've ever had at Loyola. He's so funny and his lectures are always so entertaining. He does expect a lot out of you and will call you out in class, but if you don't know the answer it's not a big deal. no exams, daily quizzes, do the homework.

His Lit class wasn't too demanding (5 3-page essays, 3 tests). Attendance is invaluable (but not mandatory) to understand what he is looking for in essays and tests and that's how you get the A. Study the terms on his study guides to get a higher grade on tests. And he tends to get off topic...A LOT. He was VERY passionate about the subject matter.

Ancient Greek with Dr. Dobrov is a great intro to one of the most influential media in human history. He is a funny, effective, and overall awesome prof who really wants his students to succeed. He slows down if needed and is very understanding to the extent of holding study sessions before class. There are mimi-quizzes and take-home exams.

He knows like every language, so if you study something else he can relate it back to that. He's totally funny, but gets off on tangents for most of the class period. Expect weekly quizzes, sometimes more - but no real tests. Go to class - even if it's not required, it helps. He makes a difficult language fun and interesting! Definitely take him!

Oh Dobrov...this man might just be the greatest lit teacher at Loyola! Every review is spot on - do the SQ's, attend class, take good notes and you should have no problems. If anything, take the class for the pure comic element because he is hilarious!! He literally brought me to tears on a number of occasions

Need to fulfill that ENGL+WI requirement? TAKE HIM. Just go to class, takes notes, and read the material. Its hard not to pay attention just b/c the way he lectures and the material is interesting and captivating. I would DEFINITELY recommend (especially over the summer!!)

I really enjoyed having him as a teacher. His lessons were quick and painless, yet extremely informative. There is work assigned daily and class participation is a must, but this professor gives everyone the chance to do well.
