Comment:
Hes a nice guy, and you go through some cool topics in class but it seems pretty pointless. Never review book readings but tests are heavily based on them. Hes perfect if you want to get an almost guaranteed B. He also tends to ramble and can be hard to get a question or comment in.

Comment:
The material covered in this class in not difficult. However, the class is completely pointless and hardly even related to the tests. We literally watched boring movies in this class for a stretch of two weeks straight. Then, the test was based on the hw readings that we never once talked about in class. So take try to take a different prof.

This class is not that hard if you keep up with the reading! The only reason I passed his class was because he curves. Class is pointless. He gives good extra credit opportunities. No essays, or homework. Just exams and reading.

Professor Gray knows his stuff but his lectures are so terribly boring. You don't have to go to class to do well on the tests because nothing from lecture is on them BUT he counts participation. I wish he was more interesting in class but I can't complain-- not a hard A.

He is a nice guy, but class is a waste of time. Nothing that is said in class is on the test, beside maybe one essay question on a video. (essays, pick 3 of 5) All of the reading is on the test so READ and you will do well. He curves the tests so it's not too difficult. The movies in class are interesting but the whole class is pretty bias.

He's really easy. Skim the reading for his class, participate extensively, and you will do well. As long as you're a good writer for this class, and a good speaker, you will do well. He's really fun to talk to. So Liberal!

Lecture is worthless, but if you do the reading and can write well, you'll do well in his class. You get a page of notes, get the essay questions beforehand, and can decide which ones to write on when he picks like 3 of the 5 and you write on 2 from the 3 he picks. Read the textbook, Democratic Debate, he asks what authors say on specific things

Good teacher. Very very very opinionated. His goal is to get you to become a liberal by the end of the course. Fairly easy because he gives great curves and as long as you do some of the reading you're okay. Recommended for fairly easy course

Really nice guy. Shows interesting documentaries. if you don't like reading, don't take this class. it's possible to get an A but it takes a lot of work. You must do the reading to do well on the quizzes, which are mult. choice and an essay about every other week. Essay midterm and final.

class wasnt easy, but gray is a very easy grader, i didnt pass any of the tests and he still gave me a C because I did well on all of the other assignments, surprising considering i was the conservative outcast of the class

I enjoy his lectures- but then again, I am a liberal. Gray is very opinionated, but I think that he is refreshing at this school full of conservatives. The tests aren't that difficult-you get a page of notes. And although there are a lot of quizzes, he throws one out. A good, interesting class.

Prof. Gray is an awesome teacher, and yes he is a liberal, but fair. He is always interested in what you have to say and likes to play devils advocate. Not a tough grader. Interesting and overall a nice guy.

The class was long and boring, the tests were almost impossible, doensn't cover any material in class, goes on tangents about about nothing to do with the material we are learning in the text... He has good humor though, he will talk with you if you are unclear about something...

State and Local Govt is a good class, pretty easy if you prepare but you can get by on one or two night cram. Lectures are monotone and occassionally slip off topic. He does not give stduy guides and is bit amibiguous as to the correct answers on exams.

State and Local is a great class. he is very interesting and knows a lot about the issues and presents them in a pretty unbiased way. State and Local is a good class but you have to do all the reading.
