Manrique was very knowledgeable and answered students questions thoroughly. He actively tried to get students involved outside of class and offered some easy extra credit for it. His tests are straight forward, if you go to class, participate in class discussion, and take notes to review before the test, you can get an A.

Awesome professor, very helpful. Tough class, but if you study it isn't too bad. Offers extra credit, and if you work for him, he'll work for you.

Does examples on chalkboard, most test material is covered in class. Can easily stay awake despite being an 8 AM MWF. Downsides are he doesn't write very neat, but clarifies it, he is quiet, tests have no multiple questions, and he gives a test the Friday before finals, then he gives a cumulative final. Every pre-final test is on a Friday.

Manrique is a great professor. He is always making sure everyone understands the information. His only downfalls is that he talks a little quietly and he writes small on the board. But if you ask, he will clarify.

Dr. Manrique is a really great Econ professor, and I'm saying this as someone who really dislikes Econ. If you don't show up for class, you probably won't do very well, but if you regularly attend class and take good lecture notes, you'll be able to get a good grade. Very few assignments and the tests mostly cover the topics covered in class.

Although it took a while for me to warm up to Marique, by the end of the semester I thought he was great. He is tough but if you work hard, you will get a well deserved A. Can be funny in class every now and then. Only true complaint is that he can be hard to hear (mumbling and quiet voice).

Manrique was funny and easy to listen to. I really enjoyed his Macroeconomics class. He makes things easy to understand and does a ton of examples on the board. There is active participation and questioning in his classes so beware you might have to talk once in a while.

My favorite professor I've had so far. He is friendly and funny in class. Class isn't mandatory for points, but go because everything he does in class will most likely be on the test. Tests are hard, but they show what you know. I never missed a class and studied a good amount and got an A.

He is my favorite teacher. I want to talk all of his courses. In class he mostly goes over problems that WILL be on the test and the multiple choice you need the book for. He is a really good teacher and will answer any question and help you out whenever he can. TAKE HIM! he is the best econ teacher!!!!!

He is one of the most interesting professors on campus. He really made econ interesting and fun to learn. He is very good at explaining things and I was never afraid to ask a question. However his tests are very hard so make sure to study the book and the notes! Sometimes he curves but not always. Would recommend to anyone!!

Good teacher all you have to do is show up to class and take notes and you will get a good grade. Text book helped but listening to him in class and studying from your notes was a lot more beneficial. Good teacher, not boring, take him if you can!

You take notes every day in class - crucial to have! I only struggled with the graphs on the tests, be sure when he does examples that he titles the graphs and tells what they are. Should study for tests!

Manrique is a very good professor. He explains things well and uses examples from current events, which makes it even more understandable and relatable. Just make sure to go to class and take notes! I hated econ before this course and now I think it is interesting. I highly recommend this professor!

Manrique's lectures are very helpful so MAKE SURE YOU GO TO EVERY CLASS. He gives examples that help a lot. 4 tests and no homework. Everyone failed Test 2 so he gave a kind of "re-take". Very willing to help. Good professor.

I took Macro as a three-week online summer course. I have no real background in economics and didn't find the course terribly difficult, but there's obviously a good amount reading every day in such a short time. Multiple-choice quizzes and tests (all available from Day 1) make up the entire grade; no busy work. I felt it was a fairly easy A.

I HATED this class!! He was unclear with expectations and there is no homework. ONLY quizzes and tests. The quizzes "homework" were only open online from 8 to 10 at night on mondays and fridays. He is unwilling to help even if you have a doctors note. He lectured new material from the first to last day and did not talk about review for the final. :

Doesn't really care about students. HAS A HUGE CHIP ON HIS SHOULDER!!! Got an email from him just today saying that at the final (which is online, but in class) saying that if our battery dies or internet doesnt work for some reason when we take the test its "not my problem, its your problem". He can be funny at times. Better than Higbee!!
