She is the best Russian professor at Penn State. She teaches the material very well, and actually cares about you doing well rather than taking pride in failing students. I would recommend her to anyone interested in learning Russian.

If Galina has something against you as a person, don't expect to pass this class with ease. You might give her a reason to dislike you, you might not. Don't be surprised if she snaps at you or makes fun of your language abilities during office hours. Her English is horrid btw. I would not recommend.

Galina is absolutely one of the best professors at Penn State. I learned more in one semester of beginner russian than in 2 years of high school spanish. She's extremely helpful and the nicest, sweetest woman you'll ever meet. TAKE RUSSIAN WITH GALINA!

Galina is an amazing professor. She's tough and has high expectations, but you want to live up to it. You learn more from her in one semester than 6 months studying abroad in Eastern Europe. Take her for Beginning Russian, you won't regret it. She's a true educator.

Galina is extremely nice and very helpful. Russian 001 was time intensive; a lot of homework was given. If you do the homework and pay attention to her reviews the tests are manageable. She doesn't grade hard at all. No final for this class!

What a mess! I took this class online and it wasn't organized well. The tests are fair but the weekly quizes and reading quizes become pains quickly. I took the class for a GAU and I guess it was worth it. I didn't study once and got a B+.

Humanties courses are sometimes hard, but not this one. She makes it interesting and easy, and yet you learn a lot. She is a really nice lady. She has an accent, but she speaks clearly regardless. The only thing I don't like is sometimes it seems more like a Russian arts course rather than a Russian history course. Great prof.

Online Course: She does not respond to a large portion of questions posted on the message board, and gives difficult online exams. You are required to watch a movie in russian (english subtitles), and a few exam questions deal with russian words. There is no curve and A solid is a 95+. Focus is on Arts, and main leaders.
