This class is described as "oceanography," but the material is more about wind patterns and currents than marine life, so that was disappointing. Professor Arthur is a cool guy, but the class is pretty dry. His tests are absurdly difficult, but they're not worth that much. Definitely take the lab; it's super easy and will boost your GPA.

This class is great for getting extra credits in or a higher GPA. The lecture section is only 2 GN credits, but if you follow what's presented, you shouldn't have any issues. There are clicker questions to make sure you're going to class, so if you can't get a friend to click for you, attendance is mandatory.

Prof Arthur is solely concerned with lecturing the material. He does not care about the class atmosphere. If you are sick; he insists you stay. Very naive. Favors. The class itself is easy, tests are a little challanging. Regardless of my grade being an A I was uncomfortable the whole semester

Not an interesting class at all, but I got an A without paying much attention. Tests are difficult but worth a small percentage of your grade. The lab is easy and there's a lot of extra credit. Not a bad choice for a science lab.

Great professor. If you have to take a science course, it's a reasonable one to take. You will have to work hard, but prof arthur and marone are reasonable and intelligent men, and they make the class interesting.

Professor Arthur is great and really wants his students to do well. The material was rather boring at times, but I barely paid attention in class and got an A. He gives you lots of extra credit opportunities. Lab depends on your TA, but overall isn't bad. If you need an easy lab science, this is the one.

Arthur is awesome! Although lab is pretty much pointless because you're learning different things than you are in class. My TA was alright, quizzes were hard. But as far as the class went, all the notes are online and there is lots of extra credit that will boost your final grade up to 10 points! :) also, he's a great guy and he even sings to you..

seriously if you just go to class and can pay attention you'll get and A. ridiculously easy class. labs depend on the TA you get, but mine let us leave early and gave us all full credit always. best part is that theres no lab reports, just a little notebook you fill out. easy easy easy class, take it.

I would only recommend this class if you need an easy lab requirement. Arthur's class was challenging because the only reason to attend lecture was for in-class activity grades. Everything is online, tests/quizzes are VERY challenging. Lab isn't awful, it's short but lab quizes are never easy. Don't take this class if it won't interest you.

Cool guy; can't read his handwriting. The class was very interesting and cool, but then I like school and don't mind doing a lot of work. The seniors hated it b/c it's NOT an easy A. Two field trips - DRESS WARM and take notes! Difficult but manageable, and very interesting. Ask Arthur if you need help, not Saffer. Less rude.
