I don't know about his math classes, but the one history class he teaches about Einstein is alright. He knows the material well as it is a hobby of his and he brings cookies and coffee to class. The only assignments were a midterm, final, and a paper and the class was fairly interesting. He may have been repetitive sometimes but not mean or rude.

WORST professor at UR I have ever had. Like everybody said, this man is a short rude dwarf. He'll bark at you for talking to him even if he was the one who told you to talk to him. Horrible lecturer, horrible professor, horrible person with horrible breath. He thinks he knows everything and assumes you know nothing. DON'T TAKE HIS CLASS

Papa Smurf is an extremely angry little dwarf. Don't try to learn anything from him or he will throw some kind of insult your way. I hated visiting his cave for office hours as he managed to make you more confused than before.

WORST teacher at this school, he cant teach and hes a VERY angry person, dont bother asking questions, he'll just yell at you, if UofR cares about its students and their well being, they will fire Segal..if you care about your own well being you wont take any class he teaches

Absolutely the worst professor I've ever had in my entire life. I pretty much joined this site so everyone can know how bad this guy is. He teaches straight out of the book and usually has a sarcastic answer for whatever question you may ask. He actually told me he would have no problem failing the entire class. Lazy, unhelpful, bitter.

aweful, run for your life. avoid this "teacher" at all costs. He's just plain the worst, mumbles incoherently to himself and re-copies the book on the board. He is condescending and bitter when you ask for clarification or help. never avaiable.

BAD teacher. Spends the entire class reading from the book, and doesn't make any sense if you ask a question. Gives no homework and take home exams though, and kind of looks like Santa Claus in a huge black Russian hat.

Professor Sandy Segal is not very clear in his lectures. His lectures are basically a regurgitation of the book and doesn't follow through the examples that he does in class. He's not very helpful when you have a question, instead, he somgets impatient.
