Comment:

He's a great professor if you like the traditional way of teaching with an older guy yelling at you for 4 hours a week. I think sometimes he's a little rude, and if you're someone who talks a lot, you may want to look for another professor because he loves participation but if you talk over him, have your grave ready.

Comment:

Dr. Brunswick will come off as strict and tough at first, but once he warms up he is quite funny. His class is extremely demanding and a high level of effort is needed to succeed, but will make you a better student and future employee. Show up to class, ask questions, and continually work on improving and you will succeed in his class.

The only way to get points in the class was through exams and several papers. He graded fairly difficult and had to study a ton for the exams, especially short answers. He is a great person outside of class but won't even let you in class even if you're like 2 minutes late - even for exams.

Dr Brunswick, He'll keep you entertained in class with clear and in depth conversations on topics that are somewhat intriguing. This however is the only positive side of his class, and his personality. The man walks in with a chip on his shoulder and a narcissistic attitude to match. He expects perfection in an imperfect world, but that is life.

He's a fantastic teacher! He uses tons of real world examples and really gets you thinking. Only has a couple big tests, but as long as you study the vocab a lot you'll be fine.

Gary Brunswick has a chip on his shoulder from the get go. He does not care about you as a student or person. His assignments and lectures deal with outdated topics and focus on quantity rather than quality. He is probably the worst instructor I encountered at Northern. He is an intelligent individual, but his narcissism ruins his ability to teach.

Dr. Brunswick is a great guy. He is a little stern but if you just talk to him he really understands. He teaches in the business school and handles his classroom like a business. But just like any boss you have he will listen and does truly understand. Handle your business, turn in your homework and you'll be happy you took Dr. Brunswick.

The best prof I had while I was at NMU - 1990-95! Very challenging but very worthwhile in learning Marketing! The man knows Business! He's the only professor that I remember from when I was in school, if that tells you anything. Thanks, Larry Zimmerman

Dr. Brunswick is a great teacher. He raises the bar to a very high level. Some people don't appreciate his directness. My advice, don't be sensitive and take it personal; everything he tells you is for your benefit. Listen up and work hard. I graduated two years ago and his course has paid huge dividends in my professional life!

As an Outdoor Rec major who had to take this class I was not looking forward to a 400 level Mkting class. Very intimidating first day but if you go to class and pay attention it will par off. He really knows his stuff and is a great teacher. Go to class, participate, and do the homework and you will learn a lot.

I took this for my minor. Brunswick is very easy to follow along with, try and answer his questions. If you're wrong he'll say "I'm not following" this will give you another chance. If you're still wrong he'll just call on someone else, don't take it too personally. I think he's a great professor, but participating will help your grade.

Very organized, professional, & KNOWS what he talking about. If you are a slacker, you will no be able to keep up with his demanding work and he will notice (resulting in intimidation, sometimes). If you are a dedicated worker, the class will seem easy and he'll always notice the hard work you always put forth. Highly recommended!

Be prepared to work a lot on your tasks- case analysis every week.One individual and two group presentations expected. Be on time in class and hand in all assignments! Well organized but sarcastic teacher. The team work was a joke and it lowered my grade. I guess, even if your work is perfect, he must like you to give you an A as final.

Comment:

GB does not respect students, rather he belittles them. He measures his success by the success of his past students-merely a coincidence. Although very knowledgeable, his attitude is demeaning and unattractive. Many assignments are irrelevant and exhausting. Unfortunately, this is a required class for marketing majors. The class is decent. I thought it was going to be much harder. There are five assignments throughout the course that need to be completed, they seem hard, but he seems to be an easy grader. Sometimes I feel like he is too harsh, but other times it's a nice, easy, relaxed class.
