Truly, one of the best professors in the history department. He was extremely knowlegeable about African American studies. It's really a disappointment that he is no longer with us. I appreciate history alot more because of Gary Hunter. RIP and God Bless

God rest his soul, one of the most intelligent men in history. Taught class with no text book...EVER. Completely off the top of his head. Tests relatively easy, didnt grade to harsh, and dropped lowest test grade.

He has passed on.Very nice friendly guy. The tests seemed hard, but really if you watched him carefully, you could tell what was going to be on the test. His class was very easy A and he cancelled it about 1/3 of the time. And he dropped the lowest test.

Spends a lot of time on topics he's interested in, not necessarily whats on tests. Seems lazy and doesn't give good notes or review. Cancels a lot of classes and ends them early. Tests are short but may not cover what he did in class. Gave Xtra credit
