He is such a nice man and is very knowledgeable, but is VERY boring. It's pretty easy to get an A though as long as you show up and take notes. Quizzes aren't very hard and exams are typically curved. Not too bad, just really boring.

Wasn't that hard to get an A in the class if you show up and pay attention. he lays out everything as it is in tests and quizzes. Whatever he says will be on the test, will be and whatever he says won't be on the test wont be. Quizzes are 4 short answer questions which he tells you the topic of each question ahead of time and tests are 40 MC Q's.

3 Tests make up for your grade for the class, and the class averages for the first two were 81 and 73. At least he added a small curve at the end of the semester. Taking this class at 8am is brutal because he's a boring guy. He's knowledgeable but try taking it with someone else if you can.

I Don't know how his upper classes are but Macro so far is a breeze because he lays out everything you need to know during lectures and is clear about it. He is really funny sometimes and always nice. Bi weekly quizzes in which he gives you the topics so it's no surprise and it helps you study it better (being a non major class). Great teacher!

The most boring class I have ever taken here. Attendance is not mandatory but if you don't go you wont know what's going on. Doesn't help that he's a very dry guy and taking the class at 8am doesn't make it any easier. Good luck to anyone that has to take him.

Most boring man in the world. Attendance is not required and he makes it very tempting to skip it every day. 3 tests are your entire grade and they arent easy. Be prepared to sit and listen every class and not say a word. If you have him early, god bless you.

Alright, the guy is dry, and the topic isn't entry level. But go to class, listen to the lectures and understand them and it's not a hard class. There are 3 tests, non-cumulative, grade is based entirely on that. Don't need the textbook. He gives a lot of helpful material to assist studying.

Econ is very hard but he tries to make it a little lax by making very corny jokes. The weekly quizzes are easy if you do the reading and go to class and they help your grade if you do bad on one of the 4 tests that decide your grade. The tests are hard and require a lot of studying.

He is very hard. His tests are impossible! I would not recommend him to people who just need to take the class, but for others who enjoy economics and all the aspects that it holds. If you think you are doing bad, drop. He curves...but not that much, so don't depend on his "curves."

Dr. Maggs is very intelligent and knows what he is talking about, however his lectures are mind-numbingly boring and the note taking is ridiculous. So if you love taking 5 pages of notes a class and barely keeping yourself awake take aclass with Dr. Maggs

This is a good guy but the class is really something that only economics majors could get excited about, although I'm not condemning it. I'd take another course from Dr. Maggs; he really knows his stuff and lays it out clearly.
