I am currently taking COMJRN-280 with Professor Fogel and he is one of the best professors I've had here at Oakland. Makes class very interesting, I look forward to going. No textbook which was great on the wallet, take good notes. Easy midterm (about to go into second part of class). In-class assignments are fun and lectures aren't long at all.

Gene is awesome! He is extremely laid back and is always there to help. If you email him before had he will excuse any absence. Homework is rare and you get out of class early every day. Take any class he teaches- you will have a ball!

Fogel is a nice professor. He has simple expectations (ie: coming to class, and doing the assignments). He likes to make learning about Broadcasting fun. Don't expect him to pat you on the back every time you perform though, he's not one for favoring or any overly enthused praise. All in all, a great class. Learned a lot.

If you want to learn to be a ridiculous talk show host this is the class for you! But if you want to be a television journalist consider another professor. If I'd taken tally of how many times he cited Jerry Springer or Maury as an example (of how to be an entertaining TV personality) I would have gone insane. Don't go in expecting to learn much.

Fun guy and easy classes. I had him for broadcast annoucing and radio something class... If you show up for class and do the assignments which are sooo easy you will do fine! If your a girl and participate in class you'll get an A! Looking for an easy yet enjoyable class, take Fogel

Took this class b/c I needed a 4 credit class. Expected to get nothing out of the class and the class to be easy. Didn't get anything out of the class and it was not that easy but I got a good grade. MUST show up to class b/c when he talks that stuff is on exams. Will ask some odd questions on exams, just know terms from the book (don't read it).

Only take this class if you want to go into Broadcasting and are serious about it. I'm definately not and I wish I wasn't in this class. He's an ok professor but I don't recommend this to just any com major student, you have to know what field of com before you take this class.

Great prof. He is definitly a funny guy. Must memorize classmates but it really isnt that hard at all since he makes you talk to everyone. Great plus is he always got us out early! Definitly take him if your a COM major.

Pretty funny guy, MUST memorize classmates names, finals are really eazy just pay attention when he letures and you'll do fine on the finals. Really encourages interaction with other classmates. A bonus he gets you out of class early!

If you want to learn nothing and be out of class within a half hour take Gene. If you want to learn something about broadcasting or how to broadcast take someone else. If you decide on his class just hope for a comedian or two in your class so it won't be dull.
