Gene was one of my favorite professors at this school. He's got a sharp wit that makes speech class fun and interesting, and I found myself looking forward to going to class. So long as you're prepared, it's nearly impossible not to like this class and gain confidence when speaking in public.

I've always felt uncomfortable in speech classes, but this teacher and class have changed that for me. The class is easy and speeches aren't a struggle for me anymore. He's a very funny teacher and makes the class interesting. I can say this was my favorite class over the semester.

very nice person. He has an awkwardness to him that's kind of intriguing. He likes speeches that are unique and not just normal, everyday topics. You are able to use a 125 wd. outline or something but I always did more for the one he doesn't collect. I never really talked in class and I think he liked that more than the ones who did.

Fun class. I'm not afraid of public speaking and found this guy VERY funny. I looked forward to going to his class because it was just fun. He takes the pressure off and gives good subjects to talk on. Tests are a bit hard but over all a fun class. He should teach a theater class IMO.

I got all A's on my speeches, one B+, but that was for the group speech. Gene is a good guy, funny teacher, says UMM alllll the time! That can get kind of annoying, but once you're past that, he's a very easy-going guy & I recommend him to anyone! Be unique with your speeches & creative, he will love you!

I enjoyed his class, because he took an approach that was part lecture, part discussion. It was great. I think that he's open to ideas and questions and concerns, and it made the class more enjoyable.

Most classes concerning communications are cake and boring because of it. Gene Perry's Intro to Speech is not one of them, he's got great cynical wit and his teaching method will keep you on your toes. Be prepared to speak every day.
