Great class for memorization and grammar correction. If you can memorize everything he says, you'll do fine- even if you can't apply it to real life. Unfortunately that is how most of UTC is- memorization. You might learn every part of an engine, but what will you do if you're stranded out on the road?

Dr. Van Horn is a botanical genius, and he's very funny. His class is half lecture, half stand up comedy. He is very helpful and a fair grader - one of the best profs I've ever had.

He is possibly the worst biology teacher in the world. He jumbles on and on during class. I took pages and pages of notes, but my notes have absolutely nothing to do with the test. The only person who can pass his class is a psychic, or someone who has the answer key to all of his tests. HE IS BAD!!

Van Horn is the worst teacher I've had. His tests come from out of no where and he prides himself on his failing class average. He doesn't help students out and tells them that someone in his class is getting an A so it must not be that difficult
