Geoff is by far one of my favourite professors! He is great at explaining things and makes sure everyone understands the material before moving on. He is a bit of a tough grader, but as long as he can see that you are trying, you should be fine. Textbook is extremely important in this class, as half his test questions come from it!

Geoff was probably one of the worst professors I have ever had. He acts like everyone in his class is a music major, and does not take time to explain concepts when asked. Do not recommend.

Geoff is a very well educated professor and this is proven many times throughout this course. He is definitely very familiar with the material he is presenting. His many quizzes and exams are quite tough as they are all short answer. Many questions are taken directly from the textbook, which is an invaluable tool throughout the semester.

Geoff is awesome! One of my favourite professors so far! He is great at explaining everything and making sure that everyone understands. There were quite a few worksheets but it was all to ensure that you knew what was going on. He is easy to talk to and is available for help if needed.

Geoff is the best prof I've ever had. He goes above and beyond to make the course interesting and fun. I learn so much and retain a lot too. Most of his classes are at 8:30 but they make it easy to get up and go because they are upbeat and so interesting.

He is very helpful out of class, very interesting even though during the entire class he has the lights off, it sucks because you cant see his great assets. Exams are not to bad, but all long answer so study hard!!!!

Geoff is easily one of the best professors I've ever had - after spacing my undergrad out over 4 schools and 8 years, I think that's fair:) He is extremely engaging, knows his stuff, & very fair. My favourite course was 2640, Pop Culture and Music - intellectual without being out of touch and very challenging. Take a course, you won't regret! A+

One of the absolute best teachers I have ever had. His classes were very interesting, he was always fair, and everything was organized so that you could learn as much as possible from the class. He was very approachable, informal, and overall an excellent teacher. I would recommend his particular classes to anyone with an interest in music.

Wealth of music knowledge & classes are never boring. Even the dry stuff he has cool trivia about. He uses powerpoint, listening sessions, discussions & sometimes will even get you to clap rhythms or play instruments! Study hard for exams though!!!
