He is very smart and knows his stuff. It is not necessary to put in the reading for the class. Just study the exams from previous years, know how to manipulate equations, and show up to the exams and you will get an A. However, you can learn a lot from the class if you really want to.

Lectures were very short and not very helpful. He provided very few sample problems. When asked for help, he told people to google things. Does not respond completely to emails. Gets frustrated when students don't understand. One of the worst professors I've had.

Caneba is an interesting teacher. He often gets on tangents that are more important than the material that is directly related, which can(not) be a good thing for students. He is a lenient grader, and the overall grade in the course consists of nothing but 4 exams. You may not learn the quantitative part in class but the qualitative part is there.

This was the easiest class I have ever taken! You listen to him talk for 30 minutes and write half a page, which makes up most of your grade for the class. I'm pretty sure he doesn't even read them. Plus, the research paper isn't a huge part of your grade.

Recommend if you want a good grade! Class was interesting, but boring at times. If you go to class, and try the homework you will get an A. Make sure you go the 2 lectures before a Test, because he reviews past exams. The book wasn't that great, but it explained enough to get through the class. We had a 5 page term paper instead of a final exam.
