He is a very nice prof, but was not the best at teaching. I found that his explanations were confusing and hard to follow. Despite that, this class was fairly easy.

Giorgio is a super nice prof. Although I am taking his classes only because I need a language credit, I am glad I am taking them with him. He really wants people to do well, and if you are struggling with learning, he is more than willing to help you out. You do have to go to class because you cant learn a language well on your own!

One of the kindest profs I have ever had! He reminds me of my grandfather - truly a kind, gentle being! His teaching is also very good (kind of old school but it gets the job done!) Ital 101 was my favourite course this term and I highly recommend it :)

Extremely helpful and he wants all his students to learn and do well. Very kind and considerate and polite. VERY patient with students who even the class found distracting. Goes over the homework with everybody, in detail, and wants you to understand and achieve. Very easy to talk to. Takes time to explain to you. Wonderful class experience.

Very kind and understanding old man. He really felt like a father to me, and although he doesn't teach clearly, he is still very likeable.

all he does is go over the h/w from the textbook and doesn't teach you ANYTHING. Tests are taken from the online course helper and so half of the stuff we were tested on we had never even been TAUGHT! He told us we had to do a live group presentation a week before it was due at the end of the semester when everyone is so busy! Marks very hard

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE! I have never written an actual review here but I cannot stand by and watch my fellow students suffer through this prof. He is a nice guy, sure, but by far the most USELESS prof I've ever met! HORRIBLE teacher, I'm very good at languages, but you have to learn straight from the textbook. Every class all you do is go over

He doesn't know how to teach; overload students with grammar and he doesn't explain anything in class... he just chat with students and goes over the exercises in the book. useless prof, attending his class was so boring.I wouldn't recommend him for anybody

A laid-back & kind prof who places way too much emphasis on attending class (it will reflect in your mark). Tests were fair but class = dreadfully boring; I taught myself the entire course from the textbook. Course material is more difficult than other intro languages & we moved too quickly in this class. An OKAY prof & class.

at first coming into the class it was really hard, but over the year he kind of gave up challenging us to really try.. the homework was easy, but meant that you could wing it. i don't feel confident going into third year. but the class was fun & he's a really nice guy .. reminds me of my dad. if you don't come to class he'll tell you he hates you.

This was such an enjoyable course. 12 people registered, about 7 would show up. Classes were engaging and discussions were often hilarious. Giorgio was genuinely concerned that his students came to class and gained a passion for italian language and culture. Indespensible textbook, and there was self-teaching involved, but keeping up wasn't hard.

A nice enough guy, however has a hard time explaining things. In Italian, he makes no sense and his English isn't great so don't expect clear responses to your questions.

I enjoyed his class - very relaxed. He likes to test every single exception from the textbook. Maybe he's not an easy prof if you only speak english - he doesn't teach you how to learn a new language, he assumes you'll do your homework and such. He emphasizes more on speaking in class rather than writing.

His tests were somewhat difficult but he was always willing to help if students needed it. Overall I thought the class could have been more interesting but I felt like Dr. Jacova genuinely cared about his students and how they did in the course.

I liked him. I thought he was nice, even to the students who were super rude to him and thought they could take advantage of him.
