Reading is a must. Quizzes are based on the reading and film so pay attention. I never had a hard time understanding what she wanted from the class. She is easy to talk to if you have any concerns and she is willing to help when necessary.

Extremely graded by few assignments, I do not reccomend taking this course with her especially if you don't need this specific HU/SB. If you miss 1-3 points off a quiz you end up with a B-. This is not the class if you're looking for a GPA booster.

Passionate, caring, and down to earth professor despite how educated she is. Cared about all of her students success and she is very knowledgeable. She is not bias like other comments state she is just passionate about the subject she is teaching. She not only made it fun she made me want to learn so much more! Will miss her :)

Prof. Cuadraz is a great teacher. She works with you but you have to show initiative and effort. I thought the material we read in her courses were very inspirational.

This teacher was overall what I would expect. I did not like the White Hate that seemed to be a theme. I do like that more than one one race was covered but again white seems to be the Villain in every case. She did grade accurately so I don't think she is trying to push that message. If you are looking for an easy A or B, take this one. All of the class is multiple choice questions based on a bunch of books you must read. If you read the books, then you should have no problem. There was one written essay worth 15% of the grade, but honestly with little to no effort you should be getting an A or B.

I would not suggest taking this class, or the professor. She is extremely unorganized, and half the time she had other students teaching the class while she sat in the back of the room eating. The questions on quizzes and tests are on topics never covered in class. This class is used as her own personal forum, I learned nothing from it.

She is a pretty funny teacher and tries really hard to keep the content of the class interesting. There is a lot of reading in the class but it is not hard to get away without reading. Study the lectures and it will not be hard to get an A in the class. Definitely recommend this class.

Prof Cuadraz is amazing! She has her views, and isn't shy about them, but they're used to further the academic discussion, not as a grading metric. Just read the books, participate in the discussions, take the tests and get the A. She gives clear expectations and is very helpful, especially if you have a problem with the schedule of the course.

Dr. Cuadraz claims to be a fair grader, but only if you agree with her views, if you even try to have a discussion with her she will give you poor grades(her views allowed only!) The reading is endless, you will have NO LIFE. Tests on 150-200 pages mostly all fill in the blanks. A's are only given to her "favorites." She seems confused disorganized

This was way too much work for a 100 level class. She tried to make the class read 5 entire books. You have to attend 2 out of class events, final exam was a group project that took forever to complete. Boring, but a nice person.

Very disorganized and random. She is very biased by her own culture. Discussions tended to get out of hand and some people ended up very offended. The project in the end was pretty fun but other than that I really didn't enjoy the class

Cuadraz is a good prof. She really gets into the subject and keeps the class interesting, even if there is a lot of reading. She's not very organized, but the controversial discussion topics make up for it.
