Comment:

This is probably the hardest/most in-depth class I've ever taken. There is a TON of info to absorb and the lab is seriously intense at times. Gord is a good prof; he is passionate about the material and knows it intimately well. He can be frustrating to get a straight answer out of, but ultimately he is a great instructor. Also, killer hats.

He's really cool and passionate about Biology, and tells you what you need to know. Still need to study the slides! Final is harder than the midterm. Also he has a couple weird lectures about climate change and psychedelic mushrooms, but still worth it.

He is very passionate about Biology and loves teaching it. Biology is a diffult course and their is lots of memorizing to do. He does not provide practice midterm/final which really sucks. Overall he was a okay prof.

Comment:

BIO 108 is a very heavy course, so do not get too mad at Gord for how heavy his lectures are. He makes his class very entertaining, he always brings in examples contributing to the lecture, gives good book suggestions for the topic. He is so dedicated to his work, it is refreshing. Great guy!

Gord is by far my favorite prof I've had so far. He is so passionate about biology and he really shows it. He is hilarious and can be a little slow at times but it's because he gets so involved. His grading is in your favor which is great and his hat suits him perfectly! He hands at least one thing out every class which keeps the snoozers awake!

Gord's great. He doesn't care if there's 1 student or 100; he's the same enthusiastic dude and loves biology. He does tell you if some things will be on the test but no biggies if you missed them. Class is heavy on memorization so just memorize the midterm and final review powerpoints and you should be good. Hardly attended and got a good mark.

Gord was a pretty awesome teacher. Don't just memorize lecture slides, read the textbook too if you want to do really well. Don't take this class if you're not willing to memorize a little everyday. There is ALOT OF CONTENT! You have to be on top of your game. Bio108 is a very difficult course if you suck at memorizing. Final is harder than midterm

Overall an amazing prof! Super enthusiastic about science as a whole, and teaches with interesting and applicable examples. I would recommend this prof to anyone interested in biology.

His lectures are interesting but his tests are difficult. Overall i would strongly recommend as a biology 108 prof because compared to some of the other ones he is really good and the marking is fair. Also I never bought the text book and it was fine

Gord makes his lectures accessible and interesting. He is clear, teaches his material concisely, and frequently brings objects and optional materials for the class to inspect should they choose to do so. He engages the class with questions and review. Attendance is not mandatory, but very highly recommended for efficient studying. I recommend Gord.

He is an easy going guy. Often finishes lectures early on Fridays which is nice. All exams are based off of power point slides so you know what to expect. Lectures were interesting, tests could be challenging but there are often bonus questions that are easy.

Gord was awesome, i had bio 108 with him and i regret not taking his lab too. He is funny and makes his lectures very enjoyable. Didn't skip any of his classes. I had him in my first year and i seriously doubt there are any bio profs as awesome as he.

Great professor! I had an absolute blast in this class and I highly recommend him as a teacher! Very easy to talk to and answers your questions well. You can tell he loves what he teaches. I advise anyone to take his class if possible!!! :)

Comment:

Gord is a great guy, and he loves his subject. As an instructor, he does go through his slides a little fast, but I think it was his way of making sure the class stayed focused. Furthering this, he always made a point of mentioning a few interesting facts about the material. He was very helpful in both the lab and lecture, and great with questions.

Gord is a really nice guy and is really passionate about biology and science. My only complaint would be that he moves really quickly through slides and I didn't find what was on the slides reflective of what was on the midterm. I would probably take another class with him, but I would definitely go in knowing that it would be a tougher class

Love love love his class! He's super funny and you will love going to his lectures! Although attendance is not mandatory if you want an easy A. GO TO CLASS! about 90% of his questions on exams are based on his lectures and although he posts his notes online he adds extra stuff when he's talking and that's all fair game!

Gord is a great guy! He actually wants his students to succeed! He's a pretty easy marker. Though the final wasn't as easy as the midterm. He plays music at the beginning of class which is awesome! Plus he has an interesting talk about shrooms and global warming. Definitely take him for 108!

Very knowledgeable professor. He is very approachable, so don't be scared to see him during his office hours. Pay attention to the diagrams he posts in class, they pop up on his tests. Study hard and you will be fine
