Comment:
Professor Carbone treats his students like they work for the weather Chanel. Not clear in his explanations or lectures. Attendance is a must if you just want to pull out a C to get credit. For an intro Climate class, it is beyond difficult. Test involve concepts that were barley touched in lecture. Textbook is $250+. Weekly journal entries. Avoid!!

I highly recommend this professor! He is absolutely fantastic! His lectures are fun and he always makes everything really easy to understand, even if you are new to the material! He also gives so many extra credit opportunities throughout the semester! Go to his office hours, he will help you with any material you don't understand.

Dr. Carbone is very enthusiastic. He wants students to enjoy his class and to learn the material. He has an interesting and engaging lecture style. He is a positive and interesting person who I enjoyed learning from. However, the lectures and the exams did not always align well. The exams covered information in much more detail than in the class.

Worst Class ever. If you don't want to be a meteorologist don't take this class. Its boring and useless. He doesn't get the material across thoroughly.

While this class involved quite heavy reliance on the text book to better understand the concepts, if the effort was put in, it was an easy class to pass. Prof. Carbone was very approachable and willing to explain concepts further if required. As an international exchange student, I enjoyed this course immensely

Dr. Carbone is a great professor. He is very helpful in and out of the classroom. This class is a bit tricky though. Labs are painfully boring and lectures could sometimes put you to sleep but thats just because of the material. Quizes are extra credit and he is a very fair grader. Go to class and labs and you should do well

Carbone is a great prof. He can get a little confusing sometimes, but if you are paying attention and read the book prior to class you can understand what hes saying. He is very friendly and is willing to help. Is a very interesting class if you want to learn more about the weather, if not i would advise not taking it.

Carbone is an extremely intelligent man, but he expects us all to think like meteorologists, and some of us are not. I felt like I was never comfortable doing his assignments, and every time I found the answer, it was wrong because there was always more crap I could add to it. Don't get me wrong, Carbone definitely knows what he is talking about.

Dr. Carbone is a great teacher. The attendance really isn't mandatory, but you're gonna want to be there. Class not hard if you just do the work. The best way is to make sure you do the weather journals 4 times a week (3 or 4 sentences about the weather that day). Read the book before the lecture and he clarifies it well.

If you are not a math person, do NOT take this class! The lab is all math! You will read your life away, do little tiny assignments that you forget about, and it is all conceptual and really hard! Carbone is nice, but this class sucks!

I learned so much in this class. Carbone is a really nice guy who really knows his stuff. You will have to work in this class but he is so willing to do anything he can to help you. Very fair, organized, and even-tempered. Lectures were interesting and the tests were hard but fair. Highly recommend.

Very nice guy, really wants you to do well. Tests are hard - they cover a lot of material, but if you keep up on your reading and pay attention in class, they really aren't bad. Pop quizzes that are really easy if you were paying attention in class. Lots of chances to bring up grade.

I've had Dr. Carbone twice now, and both times was very happy with his style of teaching. The material is tough at times and will be in depth, but you can learn a lot from his classes. I highly recommend him for the serious student.
