you do 4 reading tests he drops the lowest one, or you don't have to 4th one. midterm and final are short essays. that's it. for all tests he gives study guides lets you have a one side piece of paper with notes for the tests. typed or written. just read the material and ask questions and you will get an A. give 20 points extra credit. He is Great!

He's an okay teacher. Four reading tests, midterm and final. Extra credit opportunities. Attendance is really only necessary to sign the roll sheet, most people leave after because he rambles most every single lecture about nothing important. If you use the book, you'll do fine on the tests. He's nice and very informed on the subject.

I took his history class in a lecture hall with a large class size. Therefore, there is not much in class participation. All lectures are done without powerpoint or a whiteboard, so you need to take good notes. As long as you are a good and dedicated student, you will do fine in his class. I learned a lot from this class.

Tilles is an overall great person but his lectures are mind bogglingly boring. He's late to class every day also. But he is always there to help you when you need it. Gives study guide before test, and drops the lowest exam grade. Also offers extra credit. Attendance is "sort off" mandatory although you do need to get the study guides

I took both Tilles' History classes. He's always late to class. Lectures consists of him rambling and making terrible jokes. However, he is full of knowledge and if you need help he is available. He hints at everything you must study the textbook and offers credit. The class doesn't require attendance except for days he hints. Take this easy class!

Lectures mostly irrelevant to course material except some key topics he'll go over. If you're interested in history, there's a lot of freedom to discuss and explore other topics that you want because the class was crazy easy - just do the reading. Take the time to chat to him because he's a funny, interesting guy with a wealth of knowledge!

Boring class, his lectures go off on a complete tangent and it's worse because it's history, you already don't want to listen to it. However, I will say the tests are easy since he does give you a cheat sheet and you can fit the whole study guide on there. There are essay tests also, but cheat sheets are also allowed. Time consuming & boring.

The only reason for his 4.2 rating is probably because you do not have to do anything in his class, but this guy is a complete joke. He's ALWAYS 10 mins late to class, he doesn't teach the class, but tells stupid jokes and talks about movies and crap. I am going to college to learn, not to listen to some idiot babble. I will be writing him up! >:(

Only 4 reading tests (lowest grade will be dropped) and 2 exams. Many extra credit opportunities. They can even replace your exams grades. This class is an easy A if you do your work.

Attendance taken everyday, and it amounts to 50 points. Lectures can be boring and are often off topic and behind schedule (discussing the Great Depression when the next test is on the Vietnam war). He is usually 15 minutes late to class everyday, and lectures after class ends. However, he is a nice guy and the class is very easy. Recommended

Attendance is mandatory, but some people do leave half way through class after singing roll sheet. Lecture is pretty boring, and often goes off subject. 4 multi choice reading tests (drops lowest grade), 1 mid term, 1 final. Study guide for each which covers all the main subjects. He allows 1 page of typed notes per test. Overall easy class.

I really enjoyed this class and got an easy A. You get to have a whole page cheat sheet for each test and he gives you a study guide for the test as well. As long as you skim the book using the study guide and pre-write your essays on the cheat sheet you're golden. He doesn't cover much material in class so just use the study guide and the book.

Mr. Tilles is the best! Not only is he hilarious but he makes it impossible to fail the class. He lets you bring a one page typed notecard to each test, he gives you the terms you will need to study, and the essay topics that will be on the midterm and final. He is so easy it's funny. It's not even like a college class. He's the best!!!
