Dr. Matthews gets a lot of flack, but I really enjoyed her as a person and a professor. She is a very nice lady and is always willing to help if you ask questions. She is accessible outside of class via email for questions, and understands the difficulty of the material and curves when necessary. The class requires work, but what did you expect?

Very nice lady, truly the hardest teacher I have ever taken, I know no one that would have passed if it weren't for giving 15-20 points extra credit after everyone failed all of her test. Do not take unless you want to lose your social life this semester.

Gretch is a sweet lady and genuinely does care about everyone, but she's not very good at explaining things. She FLIES through every topic and the only way to somewhat grasp what's going on is by doing the homework, but even that didn't help sometimes. Nobody would've passed if their weren't a few grading mishaps and extra credit.

If it weren't for the extra credit added to each test, no one in the class would have passed. She is a horrible teacher and grades more strict than any calculus professor I have ever had.

She had to curve every test by around 15 points because the average was always low but it made the class easy. She covers more material than any other teacher will and goes really quickly with little explanation. Highly suggest finding someone on youtube to supplement your learning with her but overall she is one of the easier calc 3 teachers.

I want to start by mentioning that she is a very nice lady, however... She is absolutely horrible at explaining things. She doesn't explain the purpose behind the problems (makes it hard to remember when to use what equation). Her in-class examples are easy, homework is hard, exams are unbelievable. Everyone I know failed them.

I honestly cannot believe she is still allowed to teach here. She doesn't teach anything that's on the homework or tests and rushes too quickly for anyone to learn. Most of the class failed every exam. I have never had a worse professor in my life. Do not take her if you want to be successful in math 2060 like other classes.

If I wasn't good at math, I would have trouble in this class. Its pretty self-taught for me as she only goes over broad concepts rather than a lot of specific examples. Also, if she doesn't finish a section in the time she has allotted to finish, she just won't finish it and move on. But if you really understood 1060/1080 you should be fine.

Dr. Matthews is a very nice and fun person, however, that does not make a good professor. Throughout the class I was constantly confused on a) what she taught, and b) what I was expected to know for quizzes and tests. I failed every test yet somehow still made a B (curving). Her tests are insanely hard and are nothing like the in class examples.

She was good at communicating with the class and was eager about the subject. Maybe not the best at explaining things but she will try her hardest. She also gave us free food all the time to help us remember lessons. She's kinda cooky but in a good way. We got regular quizzes that were difficult but most she gave us free 100s. Tests are hard. Do no take her. She gives no partial credit on questions that are worth 20 or 25 points even if you did the whole problem but made a tiny math mistake. I've never heard of a calculus professor not giving partial credit. Just don't take her.

While she's nice, she's fairly bad at truly teaching what she puts on the tests. Only take her if you have some strange personal love for calculus or so much motivation that you want to teach yourself the entire semester. Quizzes and tests are tough, and the webassigns are extremely long and do not exactly cover what she tests on.

Dr. Matthews isn't a bad professor. Although you do learn more than other classes at a faster pace, you just have to put in the work and practice to pass. Also she brings food to class every once in a while so that's a plus.

Dr. Matthew is a great professor, but a hard one. She explains the material well but her tests are very difficult. However, if you pay attention in class, do the homework, and study the old tests you'll understand the material much better than all your peers in the other classes.

Professor Matthews was a very nice person, but a not so good teacher. She is extremely scatter-brained and isn't very good at getting the point across. She tends to focus more on the theories of Calc 3 rather than the problem solving. Her tests are NOTHING compared to what she teaches. All of her tests were curved to help more students pass.

the toughest math class i've had to take. the worst part about it is that it seems like everyone else in mthsc206 is getting it easy, making 90+ on tests, while youre struggling to get C's. you even cover more material than other sections of 206 do. avoid at all cost

She is all over the place and confuses herself while explaining things. She doesn't prepare you for the tests and gives you questions that you have never seen before. It is even difficult to try to study with people in other classes because what she teaches is not paralleled to what other 206 classes are doing.

This class is very difficult and definitely not an easy A. Dr. Matthews is extremely fair, and very helpful. She curves as necessary but the curve won't help if you don't study. Overall I found the class very enjoyable and Dr. Matthews to be incredibly nice and a great professor.

The course is hard. The tests are nothing like the homework or examples we do in class. But the final grades were curved. The highest test grade I got before curving was an 83 and I ended up with an A. Just go to class, participate, and go to her office hours. She really does want to give you the grade you deserve.
