Comment:
Hes a good professor but he class itself is extremely confusing. He goes off on tangents on one topic and will spend 40 minutes talking about it. Class is pretty boring and he gives books to read but gives good grades if you do the work. Extremely opinionated. Gave us days off for Christmas in the first week of October.

If you want an easy class, go with him. However you will probably be confused most of the time in class. All the classmates really had to depend on each other when we had questions on the assignments. He will give you a B+ or an A no matter what. If you're signing up for lots of hard classes, take this easy class so you don't have to stress more.

He spends the entire class rambling&does not teach using anything. He just sits at a desk and TALKS for the entire class period. I think he forgets that students take other classes bc he assigns one book to read a week&you have to write a paper on each of the books. He mumbles alot and taking notes is hard bc half the time you cant understand him.

I took Ross for History of Social Thought. He provides great feedback and clearly states what he wants done. He was always available to help me. Although he can go on and on forever in class, he is very intelligent and funny. He wants to make learning more enjoyable and really does provide a different perspective. Very flexible and understanding

If you want to easily pass, take him - but beware. He assigned over 10 papers about several readings as homework, and some of the readings were entire books. Then he rambles in class about the assigned readings but doesn't make any sense. Talks way too much even though no one is paying attention. I have so much more to say but no more room left.

Ross is the man. He might have super long lectures and go totally off topic sometimes, but he eventually goes back to the point. His class is pretty easy as long as you do the readings he assigns, and actually listen to his lectures. He's a smart man with lots of insight and opinions. Pay attention in class and your good. I would take him again.

He is a really nice guy and very real about the world which is great. I just find it hard to follow him he tends to be very wordy and ramble when he lectures which can be confusing. Over all really fair guy, as well as grader

Ross is quite an insightful man; he's a funny guy who likes to express his opinions on current issues. He'll quite often go on tangents during lectures, which could frustrate some students-- but if you listen, you'll find it interesting. Overall, a nice guy who gives a lot of extra credit opportunities-- take advantage of it!

Definitely an unorthodox teacher but you will get something profound from this class if you can get past his rantings which may lack some clarity. Don't expect an A but passing with a decent grade is totally possible.

Ross, is beyond brilliant. Anyone that does not understand him is simply not up to par with him. One of the smartest at ramapo easily, not easy, take this class to LEARN, not to pass. Trust me if you dont learn you did something wrong not him. Reminds me of George Carlin, extremely smart in so many different areas and tells the truth.

He is such a bad professor. He has an attitude like he is better than his students. He makes jokes that nobody can understand, and makes you feel like you are stupid if you speak up in class, even though he gets mad when no one participates. Please do not take him. You will be better off to avoid him. I did not learn a thing in his class.

Ross is very difficult to understand, he goes off on tangents and it's really hard to relate what he's talking about in regards to class work. HOWEVER, he might be intimidating the first few classes, but REALLY listen to him and you will do just fine. If you have to take him, stick it out. Do what's asked of you and you'll do good.

This guy is bursting with knowledge. At times it was hard to follow what he was saying, but it was probably because I was unfamiliar with most of his references. However, I did learn a lot from all the readings he assigned. If you are ready to use your brain in a different way, take this course.

He talks a lot, and a lot of the times it was hard to follow. But he pretty much gives you the answers to the midterm and a lot of extra credit. Just do the readings (novels, not text book) and *pay attention*. try not to be late either, hard on attendance but it is possible to get an A.

He never stops talking, which can get irritating, but he lets you out early once he's done ranting. Wants you to participate and voice your opinion. Presentation, and final paper. Only one or two simple tests. Gives a lot of extra credit if you ask. I got an A with minimal effort. Takes attendance every time. Decent class!
