I could have done better in his class if I worked more on my time management. Overall the class is pretty straight forward and not too difficult. Its really important to make a lot of time to study for the exams as the fill in the blanks can really trip you up. Thats where I did the worst. But honestly hes a very fair and nice professor.

The fact that he's a dry presenter makes an already boring subject really unbearable. He could be a little bit more clear about what the focus of the exams will be on, there are some chapters he only talked about for maybe 30 minutes in class that probably formed about 1/2 the final exam...

Classic case of a bright prof is out of touch. condescending & pedantic, and oversimplifies lecture content and presents information like everyone knows this, Expectations for assignments are extremely unclear, not including a rubric or description for final presentations, final papers, or guides for exams. skips slides and presentations entirely

Most of the class is spent on you picking a lecture and then presenting it to the class so if you have problems with performance, don't take this class. Really helpful and if you ask, he'll send you emails on how to do better in the class. He's the only professor that still does the rat lab (you train rats to press a lever for food) and it's great

Very kind person. Will help you if you seek it. Class is mostly presentation, and most of the work in the class will be self-taught. You will get out of the class what you put in.

Not his best semester; I think he often let student presentations go on too long so that we had to teach ourselves the material. You have to read the textbook and the articles meticulously to do well on tests, as he is unclear as to what exactly will be on there. Super kind and intelligent though, a great guy - I would recommend office hours.

Not the best at communicating information, but a nice guy and willing to help. Puts a lot of emphasis on presentations by the class, which have to be PERFECT to get a good grade. Very little information is actually taught in class, and you basically have to teach yourself out of the textbook to pass exams.

Harvey makes the students teach the class with daily presentations, while he sits in the back and criticizes the most minuscule parts of the presentations . Then he lectures for the last 15 minutes of class where he demonstrates his own TERRIBLE presentation skills. By far the worst professor I've had in college, he just is bad at teaching

The class consists of a presentation, rat lab, a midterm and final exam and a research paper based on your own research. Aside from fill in the blank questions on exams, grading is quite fair. You must study the book and slides to do well on tests. He is helpful in office hours too. This class is straight forward with Langholtz. He is friendly!

Professor Langholtz is an amazing person. He's incredibly intelligent and committed to his students. The class is no cake walk and you will have to study, but Langholtz makes himself very available for questions. Call, email, office hours. He's a great instructor and a caring individual. The class is really interesting and worthwhile!

Prof. Langholtz is a warm and caring teacher. He is easy to talk to and welcoming when you stop by his office. I have taken this class and research methods. He is consistent with expectations. Go to class, study the material. He is not going to hand you an A, but if you expect that, then you don't need to be at W&M. Expect to LEARN in this class.

For what would be a dry topic, Langholtz found a great way to spice it up with rat training, journal articles, and public speaking. Plus, he and the TA's are always open to help out for the research project. I liked how he gave immediate feedback on the presentations. Make sure you know the key terms and go to class for his special lectures.

Langholtz repeats himself constantly, falls behind in Class, and skips powerpoints (but you're still responsible for the material he doesn't get to). Makes you memorize psychology publications for exam. Interesting material, but he somehow makes it terribly hard to stay awake in class. Wouldn't recommend.

Listen, he's very nice. You can enjoy his class. Problems: Class time is dominated by student presentations. He is unclear and unhelpful about what the tests will include. He teaches obvious content, doesn't reinforce readings, and ultimately, you'll do poorly if you seek engaging content from your professor. Its disappointing since he is so cool.

Professor Langholtz is very enthusiastic about his material and knows very well. He explains material clearly and willing to help if you need. He also focuses both theoretical and practical or applied side of decision making theory. I recommend his class to not only psychology majors but also business or government major. You will learn a lot!

Hate this class. He is so boring, is an unfair grader, and does not know how to make a powerpoint presentation. Also, he incorrectly teaches material. Fell asleep all the time and you never know how you're doing during the class.

LOVED HIM!! His slides are extremely straight forward. he is open to questions and tries to apply real-life examples to the topic he's teaching. I thought he could have given us a more detailed grading criteria of the presentation and final paper, but other than that, he's very helpful and nice! Super guy and kind professor.

On of the worst profs I've had at W&M. Terrible, bland lectures that aren't that useful. Has the potential to be a really awesome topic, but he manages to ruin it. The outside readings also aren't that great. Do not take this class if you can help it.

Prof Langholtz really tries to make a boring subject matter interesting and accsessable through daily discussions and hands on research. He is very helpful if you meet with him, and will even edit your papers for you if you ask. Super guy!
