Horrible. Went to every class yet I didn't understand any of her lectures, only lecture I understood was with the substitute we had for one class. Avoid her class, take it with someone else. She might seem all friendly, but she will give it to you hard in the end.

Heather is an amazing genuinely caring prof! She made sure to learn everyones name. Her classes can be very interactive and textbook use was minimal. She does have a quiz every class, they are super easy (using last lectures notes) and minimal homework. Her exams can be a little tricky but she's alway available to help. One of the best profs at kpu

Heather is super nice and caring. She also puts in the effort to learn all her students' names which is very sweet. She has quizzes every week but they're easy as long as you study the notes from the previous class. Her tests are tough because she plays a lot with the wording. She explains the material very well and makes the class very interesting

She is a great teacher! Super caring of her students and gives everyone the chance to feel comfortable during class discussions, which are frequent! Her lectures provide a lot of information which is crucial to pass the exams and essays. Exams are heavy in material and lengthy, therefore notes are important! She is a super kind and funny teacher!

Attend all the classes and make sure you participate! Towards the end of the semester, if you aren't caught up on the readings, it becomes easy to fall behind. She gives 8 pop quizzes randomly throughout the semester. Not bad if you've been to the previous class and done the reading.

loved her, she's very clear and will explain the concepts again if someone doesn't understand. Tests are easy and quizzes are straightforward. Just pay attention in class and go through the notes and you'll do fine

She is extremely nice and very good at teaching beginner philosophy. Only 1 problem and that was the multiple choice questions on the exams were laid out confusingly. But the next exam she just took the m.c. questions out. Again super nice.

Heather is really disorganized, lectures are boring and not engaging, some test questions are confusing in the way they are laid out. Try for another prof if you aren't great at philosophy and want to get more out of it.

Heather is one of the nicest and most energetic profs I've had. I don't understand how people can get a bad mark in her class as she gives out a ton of bonus marks on quizzes, lets you choose which question to answer on exams and doesn't weigh the final very heavily (30%). Heather is awesome!

Confusing notes and lectures. Said we would have final exam questions ahead of time and we didn't. There was tons of instances where one thing was said and another was done. More confused than ever about philosophy.

If every teacher at Kwantlen taught like Heather, then Kwantlen would be the best school in British Columbia. Can't wait to take another class with her.

I have taken 2 phil classes prior to this one so I already knew some of the arguments, however, when she explained me the arguments it confused me. Her marking is definetly too hard for a intro to phil course especially considering her poor clarity when discussing the concepts. She knows no one in the class understood it but doesnt care.

She is a very pleasant person and great at teaching.People who complain about her are prob just lazy students who aren't willing to put time and effort into learning the material. If you study the concepts and listen in class then you will do fine.If you are lazy then don't expect a good mark.Such a pleasant teacher!!!One of my favorites!

You need to show up to every class in order to understand the material otherwise it can get quite challenging and confusing. She is always available to help and is a very pleasant teacher. In order to do well you need to really take time to memorize and learn the concepts. The course will be easy if you are willing to spend time learning material.

Her quizzes are quite easy as long as u read the assigned article. As for the 2 in-class essays, she marks pretty hard on them, class avg. was about 66% for them. Final is reasonable, she gives u the questions in advanced but hard marker. Overall very nice teacher to be arnd but hard marker.
