Most of your grade comes from the projects, which can be long. If you go to class he basically tells you exactly what to do, though. Lectures are very engaging, lots of "repeat after me" and calling on individuals. There's SO much extra credit available - I definitely recommend Dr. Neeman!

I didn't like Professor Neeman at first. He really grew on me over the semester and he makes the boring material entertaining. Ample extra credit available and this course is an easy A overall. Attendance is mandatory for lab but not for lecture.

He's very energetic. You have to participate as a class which is very annoying. The programming projects take a lot of time and make up the majority of the grade. Make sure you get the right answers on the homeworks so that you will do good on the tests. The final is the hardest part of the class so make sure you pay attention the last few weeks.

Lectures are lively, definitely certain you won't fall asleep in this class! This course was project heavy, because of this I was able to skip a whole month of classes and still get an A because of the extra credit available on every project. Weekly quizzes are the only thing you need to show up for if you can learn on your own. Great professor!

Neeman himself is a bit shout-y and condescending but the class is easy. Lectures are straight from slides posted online so I skipped class; I went only for Mon. quizzes (left after quiz), exams, & to drop off projects. Use the extra credit and help sessions. Don't procrastinate programs. Do the homework-- quizzes are verbatim from them.

Although his lectures aren't all that helpful, outside of class he's great answering questions. Tests and quizes are a joke, your grade is mostly dependent on the (six) projects he gives. There's a bit of homework, but you need it to understand the content. He gives extra credit too.

Super easy. Go to class and help sessions and do extra credit and you should have an A before you take the final.

One of the very best professors I've ever had. Learned programming very well for a non majors class. Great lecturer great notes and extremely clear expectations. Wish he taught more classes I'd take him every chance I got. Just pay close attention to detail and with the extra credit it's hard not to get an A if you try. Great class and professor

I wish he was my professor for all my classes forever. Lecture attendance is non-mandatory, but his quirkiness makes you want to go! I look forward to lecture every day. He couldn't be more thorough about things. He will stay up until 2 or 3 am the day before projects are due to respond to emails from students, and they are SO helpful.

The class and projects were easy enough for non-majors (although the commenting on your code he required was really excessive and tedious) however the workload was enormous. Did great on quizes and exams but had a hard time finishing projects due to length. Still, I would recommend him for the non-majors course.

Class is hard if you have no prior computer programming knowledge, especially as an intro class. If you have taken, or know anything related to programming, then the class is pretty easy. You have a quiz and a code lab due every week with a project due every 2 weeks. Tests are too long to finish. He does have tons of help sessions with TA's

SO.MUCH. WORK. He's an awesome, funny, quirky professor, and he explains everything really well. However, the workload is massive (especially for non-CS majors), so if you've got a heavy workload already, beware. Tests and quizzes are open book/note, and that kind of makes it worth it though...

Very easy class. Notes and quizzes are open book and open notes, and the questions come directly from the homework (so just bring the homework and copy it to the test). He is very rude if you try to speak to him directly, and extremely sarcastic. The projects are easy, especially considering alot of the code is in his examples.

Fun class, easy. If you go to class everyday and pay attention you should get an A. Great speaker keeps u interested most of the time. However he sometimes can't make it to class and the TA's lecture and it's very Null and Boring. If you do take cs1313 take it from Dr. Neeman

He drills information to the point where it becomes annoying. His projects are too difficult for a non mjors class. If you ask him questions he won't answer them directly. He hates meteorology majors.

I'm in the class now. We haven't taken any exams yet, but so far all I know is that he is annoying in lectures, but he's likable. Between his TAs and himself, any legitimate questions you have will be answered. The programming projects are difficult but you'll be fine as long as you pay close attention to the spec sheet and your notes, slides, etc.

Dr. Neeman is the best professor I've had at OU so far. Before taking this class, I had never done any programming, and I had no trouble with any of his projects. As long as you go to class, print off the lecture notes and follow along in class, and don't wait until the last minute to work on your programming projects, you'll be fine.

The first thing Neeman said to our class was 'If you have a problem, it is YOUR problem NOT MINE!' He seems unapproachable and rude, but if you get up the courage to talk to him he isn't so bad and he will help you. I had Pedro as my TA and he was very very helpful.
