This professor is a senile 80-year-old man whose word is law and nothing you say against it can be right. One example is I'm fluent in three different dialects of French, and I also am fluent in Spanish and Portuguese. I had him say that Canadian and Parisian French are different languages, but Portuguese and is a dialect of Spanish. Portfolio is BS

I've never dreaded attending a class more. Ted is boring, not politically correct and condescending, and the lectures are SO LONG AND BORING. He starts each class by reading emails form former students. It's also A LOT of work - two one-page papers, two research papers and a final, but he's very clear about the requirements. Got an A, but hated it.

Comment:
His lectures are so boring and he talks about US wars a lot. However, since he is old, he's really out of it when it comes to being politically correct. He makes a lot of microagressions and refuses to change, especially when it comes to outdated case studies.

Comment:
My experience with him and other experiences shared with me were not positive. Even though he is very knowledgable about the world, many politically incorrect statements were made which he brushed off, and refused to acknowledge his ignorance. It made me feel uncomfortable and frustrated with his lack of care for who he may insult.

Really old. Really stupid. Senile. Trips over his thoughts. He should have perished in the war. He should be reminiscing at Suffolk.

Ted knows his stuff. He tends to rant on and on about things, sometimes irrelevant, and it can be interesting if you really pay attention. But good luck. You can get away with doing nothing in class and still pass with five gold stars. One page papers every week, two huge papers, 1 final and it's all discussed beforehand and guidelines are clear.

Hollingworth is the best professor at Emerson. He has extensive experience in the management field. Students are responsible for writing a bunch of one page papers, doing case studies in class, and writing a few longer papers. Hollingworth is also a professor at Harvard. He really knows his stuff and will give you everything you need to succeed

My goodness he tells the same stories over and over again. He is a bit stuck in his ways and it made a lot of the content feel dated. Assigns a lot of irrelevent papers.

Definately a guy that grows on you throughout the class, but he does tend to shoot down some opinions although leaves the option open to speak them out. Sometimes the class can be boring, just due to the topics nature and as some things get repeted. Agree with the former poster in that he would be a great advisor.

knowledgable guy and he really wants you to learn but i find him to be very patronizing. He cuts people off when they speak and isn't interested in opinions that differ from his own. great guy, but is probably a better personal mentor than a classroom teacher.

Great professor - he is very knowledgeable and has a lot of examples that he brings to the lecture. Sometimes he overuses stories and anecdote, but I definitely learned a lot and enjoyed myself in his class.

Ted is an excellent professor who really cares about the subject and his students. His antecdotes are charming while providing a real life context to the subject. Expect to write a 10-12 page paper every week. Efforts are well spent and well rewarded. I feel like I walked away from this class with a real knowledge.

Professor Hollingworth is a good guy. He knows what he's talking about, but sometimes he'll go off on tangents about his sister or antiques...he's ALWAYS in his office, always looking for a way to help you out and connect with you. There's a significant amount of work, but he seems to grade generously. TAKE THIS CLASS :)

Dr. Hollingworth is the very meaning of expert. A graduate of Harvard, a professor of Harvard, and guess what? He loves Emerson more. He loves his "troops", loves his job, and loves the information. TONS of work, but worth it. Two one-page papers every week, two 15-25 page papers for semester.

Not difficult, but quite a bit of work (papers every class- rephrase what he said and you're golden). If you don't pick any concepts up the first time around, don't worry- it'll come up again. Not a lot of required/ allowed participation in class. As far as practical application, thumbs up!

challenging but fair and understanding. don't expect to get out of class early but luckily anything he teaches is worth your time. funny anecdotes and real world advice. is there anything he doesn't know about? probably not. if you do things the way he says, when he says, you're golden.

This cat is like a throwback! He's old, but he's a classic. At his age, you'd expect him not to feel the students, but dawg, this cat's like an owl...he's wise. I strongly encourage anyone attempting business to take every class he teaches.
