I have never met anyone in my life like Mr. Smith. He knows everything about Chicago politics and will explain them to you with absolute clarity. He understands students live busy lives and will give you a break every once in a while. He's the kindest man I've ever met. TAKE HIM! He basically changed my life.

Jack's class was one of my favorites. He knows his stuff for sure, having worked in Washington and CNN and all his experience comes through in class. Not to mention, he just really loves students and is always available to help. I don't think there was a class I learned more in, or a professor I enjoyed more than Jack Smith and Poly and the Press.

Smith is awesome. He's actually really nice and understanding. All assignments are opinion based, so as long as your specific about content and evidence for your opinions, than an A is a breeze. Lots of videos, which made lectures interesting.

Jack is a MUST take for Political Science. He's a great teacher. Class is interesting with lots of videos and stories. 4 papers, opinion though so they aren't very tough. He's been there for tons of great moments in history and really knows his stuff. Great teacher who likes to teach. With little effort anyone could get a B. Take HIM!!

One of the best prof.'s at Loyola and argubably the best in the PLSC dept., I wish he taught other classes I would take another in a heartbeat. Class is interesting w/half of it being intresting AV matierial. Also, as long as you don't dick around with his class he'll give you an A.

Awesome. Not a difficult class at all, but he really inspired me to learn more all semester. I've never known so much about the presidents from FDR on...more political history than actual history classes! And he's in the business; he was there for all the big events! The current events part was a bore, but great historical and political value!

One of the better courses I had at Loyola, because he had been in the field of Journalism w/ Politics for so long... Stories are great, along with his insight into the material. We had tests, but were takehome (including the final).
