Amazing professor, you will enjoy ethics with her. She is also one of the only professors I can say helped improve my writing ability. She wants all her students to succeed and I believe she makes this entirely possible.

Dr. Scott is an amazing person. However, she is a very tough grader when it comes to her paper assignments. She wants very specific content in the assignments and the paper project. Personally, I this class very interesting but very hard at the same time. There are 7 papers 3-4 pages, 1 5-7 page paper/project and a final exam with short answers.

Extremely kind and will do anything to help. Encourages class participation. Ex of chocolate truffles and serial killers made phil/ethics entertaining. 5 req short assignments (2 extra to replace bad grades), final paper/project, final exam. If she grades hard, it's b/c she knows you can do it - w/ her explanations, you should (I stopped reading).

Not really an ethics class compared to the others on campus. Learned about Chinese philosophers that you really couldn't apply to daily life. Only 5 short papers and a heavy final paper with a final exam. Tough grader which made the class brutal. Participation is a big requirement. Overall she's a nice person. Enroll at own risk.

Dr. Scott is a great teacher. She explains things very well and makes sure you understand the conepts. The readings can be difficult, but she covers everything in lectures and makes it much simpler. She requires you to participate in class a lot, but doesn't take attendance. The class is easy if you do the work and you get a lot out of it!

Jackie has done more to make me a better writer of philosophy than just about anyone. Her knowledge of Nietzsche's texts and her ability to bring out your best work mean that one could not find better in a philosophical mentor.

She is a great teacher, really enthusiastic about discussion and loves her students to actively participate. VERY TOUGH GRADER. It was hard to understand what she wanted in the homework and papers. I was always shocked with the grades I got even after taking her suggestions. Be prepared to put in the time, very difficult to get an A

Good overall teacher, but extremely hard grader. Be prepared do work HARD for an A in this class, she repeatedly gave me grades lower than I expected, despite how much I would change to meet her standards. Great teacher, but obnoxiously hard grader.

You must read the texts to engage with discussion during class. Run like a graduate seminar, Scott's upper-level classes are fantastic opportunities for students to practice textual explication and difficult discussion. After two classes with her, I'm terribly satisfied with the growth and understanding I've gained through her instruction.

Nice person, but maybe the worst phil professor at Loyola. In a grad seminar, she sits back and lets 2-3 opinionated students run the course into the ground. She doesn't lecture, she doesn't answer questions clearly, and she offers no textual analysis of Nietzsche not borrowed from Nehemas. Wretched overall, but willing to work one-on-one with you.

THERE ARE A COUPLE BOOKS TO READ, BUT TECHINCALLY SHE GOES OVER THEM IN CLASS, SO IF YOU MISS SOME RAEDINGS YOU'RE FINE. A COUPLE PAPERS, AND PRETTY EASY FINAL. DEF TAKE!!!
