You have to teach yourself basically everything. If you do go to him with a question he will either make an excuse to not help you or he will answer you incorrectly. Overall doesn't seem to care much, having to do anything seems more like an annoyance to him more than anything.

I'm not a big fan of his teaching method where you basically learn the material for yourself. I do a lot better with more structure. That being said, it's impossible to dislike the man. He REALLY wants to see you succeed, and he's definitely passionate. He's also there for you outside of class and gives great help when necessary.

I honestly do not think he knows what is going on. He does not teach. He has you go through a workbook to "discover chemistry yourself." However, every time that I went to him with a question he would give me the wrong answer or say he could not help me. Plus, when asked to solve an example in class himself he simply could not do so. I do not believe he knows how to teach. Apparently, he expects his students to derive equations from scratch (without help) that took people like Einstein years to derive. It is kind of like throwing a Calculus book to a bunch of monkeys.
