I thought Prof. Ginther was great! I actually thought he made Theo 100 interesting. Also, not too much homework assigned, just a couple papers. If you try in this class, you can get an A, contrary to what people say. (I recommend doing the assigned reading, but most people don't). I enjoyed this class!

Pros: Really nice guy, only one paper (2-3 pages), basically no work outside of class besides that, let's students create 80% of the midterm and the final is a "seen" exam.---------Cons: Doesn't give out A's very easily, both exams are all writing, no comments on my work to defend his grading, lectures are pointless and uninteresting

He's pretty open-minded, which is good, but his lectures can get pretty boring and his tests are ridiculous. You help write the midterm, which isn't so bad, but his expectations are far too high for a 200 level class. He randomly scribbles on the board so notetaking is hard, and the final had nothing to do with class material.

Ginther definitely knows his stuff and is willing to explain concepts if you ask but if not you'll be left confused. He scribbles on the board while he talks so if you lose focus for a minute and don't hear him chances are you aren't going to catch the notes due to illegibility. He gives a "seen" exam and allows students to help create the midterm.

He is an extremely intelligent professor and is not as difficult as he is made out to be; he gives great lectures and exams that require studying. The people complaining are those who want easy A's without working. Ginther challenges you and you come away knowing your stuff. Contrary to popular belief, he does give A's; my transcript proves that.

Ginther is one of the best professors I have had at SLU. He was willing to push his students toward excellence and demand more. His lectures were very well rehersed and interesting. He is one of the smartest Professors out there, but work hard!

He is a horrible teacher! Lectures are too off topic for a 100 level course. He is very cocky and not very helpful! He also refuses to give more than two A's in the class! STAY AWAY!
